Teaching Biology nonstop for 24 hours ‘Doctors Voice Matters’ campaign Electric Car on the highest road Lightest silver Ganesha idols Asia’s Largest Heart Shaped Collage A creative child with a sharp memory
Dear Readers,
Amidst the arrival of winter and the warm sunshine, the issue of November is presented to you. In this issue, we have brought to you many new records and interesting stories of achievements. Read the cover story about the Bharatanatyam Marathon, where Natya Vidushi, Dr. Brasil Lyons has created a record by conducting a Bharatanatyam dance event with 33 artists in Bangalore.
Ms. Pallavi Patodkar, a teacher from Wardha has surprised by setting a record for teaching Biology for 24 hours. During this, she kept on explaining various concepts of biology to her students without any breaks and standing continuously. This in itself was a different kind of incident.
Mr. Sirish Chandran, Editor of EVO India magazine, this time took an electric car to the cold desert i.e. one of the highest roads in Ladakh. This is the first time in the world that an electric vehicle could reach the highest altitude without any difficulty. The adventurous drive started from Rajasthan and ended at the 19,024 feet high Umling La Pass in Eastern Ladakh, where he was awarded a medal by the India Book of Records team.
There are also many more interesting tales on the inside pages. A young man from Karnataka surprised everyone by making a silver micro idol of Lord Ganesha, while an astrologer from Gandhinagar created a record by completing 33 padyatras barefoot.
Take inspiration from the record holders and think of creating a record yourself.

The record for maximum participants read together at multiple locations, was set by Room to Read India Trust, New Delhi, wherein a total of 1,73,844 people including school students, teachers, school staff, parents and government officials from across ten states joined together and read books for 30 minutes, between 11 am to 11.30 am on September 1, 2022. The record became a part of the prestigious India Book of Records (IBR) and its associate publication – the Asia Book of Records (ABR).
The state governments of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh supported the ‘Read-a-thon 2022’. The attempt to create a record was made in all the partner states, i.e. Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, involving the connected schools, their staff, faculty and students. A dedicated activity went on for 30 minutes, creating a new record at India and Asia level.
Harnessing the power of technology, the organisation introduced an online learning platform called Literacy Cloud during the COVID19 pandemic. The ‘Read-a-thon 2022’ motivated the students and others to read more and gain knowledge through available resources. Room to Read, a global nonprofit, started operations in India in 2003, with the aim of transforming the lives of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Its literacy
program has been implemented in 15,642 government schools, supporting 25,741 teachers trained in library management and reading activities. Over the same period its girls’ education and gender equality program has benefited over 62,457 girls in the country.
Saurav Banerjee, Country Director, Room to Read India, is happy with the record. In his words: “Innovative approaches were adopted to disseminate the online content. This included uploading the content on government portals, sharing with teachers and parents through WhatsApp groups, utilizing interactive voice recording (IVR) systems, airing over radio or community radio and telecasting over Television. Scholars of our Girls’ Education Program were reached out directly through telephone for mentoring sessions.”
The organization, founded in 2000 in San Francisco, California on the belief that world change starts with educated children, focuses on deep, systemic transformation within schools during two time periods that are most critical in a child’s schooling -- early primary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls’ education. The Room to Read India works in
collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and state governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children to ensure that girls can complete secondary school with the skills necessary to negotiate key life decisions.
Room to Read was co-founded and launched by John Wood, Erin Keown Ganju and Dinesh Shrestha in 1999 after Wood visited several local schools in Nepal. He observed the teachers’ and students’ enthusiasm and lack of resources, which led him to quit his job and build a global team to create sustainable programs that help solve their education challenges. Wood and Shrestha worked with rural communities to build schools called School Room and established libraries called Reading Room. They later expanded beyond libraries, to begin the Girls’ Education program in 2000, which focuses on young girls and provides a long-term commitment to their education. The ‘Read-a-thon 2022’ organized by the Room to Read India Trust was aimed at creating awareness towards reading books, and of course to set the record.
The department of State Taxes and Excise, Himachal Pradesh organized GST (Goods and Service Tax) awareness programs simultaneously at 38 locations across the State on September 7, 2022, with participation of 3,000 stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, members of various industries and tax consultants.
The program, which went on for 6 hours non-stop, created a record for ‘maximum attendees in a tax awareness hybrid campaign at multiple places’, thus getting a special mention in the India Book of Records (IBR). The certificate of the record was presented to Mr Subhasish Panda, Principal Secretary of
the department by Mr Bhanu Pratap, Adjudicator of India Book of Record at the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla.
While addressing the concluding session of the awareness program, Principal Secretary of State Taxes and Excise, Mr Subhasish Panda said, “It is a proud moment for the department of State Taxes and Excise, Himachal Pradesh to establish a new record in tax awareness domain. Voluntary tax compliance is the lifeline of modern tax administration. The department of State Taxes and Excise has taken a number of initiatives after implementation of GST to strengthen this lifeline. The Tax Haat Program launched by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mr Jai Ram Thakur in January 2022, was the latest such initiative in this direction.”
Mr Panda expressed hope that the unique initiative of the department registered as a record by the prestigious India Book of Records will help generate greater awareness of GST provisions for ensuring improved voluntary tax compliances. He congratulated the department for being sensitive to issues of trade and industry and successfully organizing the event.
Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise, Himachal Pradesh, Mr Yunus informed that the event was attended by entrepreneurs, members of trade and industry from across all segments. The event was very well received by trade and industry. He thanked the State Government for supporting the
unique initiative of the department for generating awareness among stakeholders. He emphasized that the feedback collected from the stakeholders during the events will be utilized to fine tune the future awareness programs.
The official representative of India Book of Records, Mr Bhanu Pratap said that India Book of Records has an impeccable record of certifying and honoring excellence while maintaining the highest level of transparency. Additional Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise Mr Sunil Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Rakesh Sharma and other officers of the department were also present on the occasion.
The department of State Taxes and Excise collected Rs 427.72 cr GST in the month of January as compared to Rs 346.30 cr in January last year, thus registering a growth of 24 percent. The cumulative GST collections in current financial year upto January this stands at Rs 3,745.32 cr vis-a-vis Rs. 2,716.75 cr during the same period last year. This makes cumulative GST growth upto January this year at 38 percent. The positive growth in GST revenue has resulted from large number of initiatives undertaken by the department, like nudging of non-filers, increased verification of in-transit goods, better use of analytical reports and performance monitoring of field functionaries by the state headquarter.
Mr Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the legendary cricketer and former Captain of Team India, and Mr Chandrasekar R, Founder and Chairman of M S Dhoni Global School (MSDGS), Kasavugatta, Hosur, Tamil Nadu, together created a memorable platform for the students of the school. Thus, September 9, 2022 turned out to be a memorable day for all the 1630 enthusiastic students, from Pre.KG to grade 12, through the event-- ‘We, the Change Makers’.
The event was planned to be an 8 hours long multicultural marathon to set a national record of ‘Maximum Students Participating in a Multicultural Marathon for the India Book of Records (IBR). Eventually, the record-setting attempt took 8 hours, 23 minutes and 16 seconds. The adjudicator Mr Harish R. from India Book of Records was present there for the review and validation.
The colourful cultural program was comprised of poetry, songs, dances and performances of all sorts of acts that highlighted the message of environmental protection and care for natural life on the planet Earth. The program comprised multiple communicative activities like singing, poetry recitation, storytelling and dancing that explore and encourage public speaking and confidence building among school-going children.
Ms Farzana A., Manager - Training and Skill Development, M S Dhoni Global School, said, “Imagine a world without lush green forests, the flowing waters that give us peace when needed and the beautiful flora and fauna present in Nature. How would it be? Life in such a planet would almost seem lifeless. However,
we’ve gotten so accustomed to living in a world where Nature’s beauty is spreading throughout, we are forgetting to honour mother nature and realize the importance of her presence on our planet.”
The program received great accolades from various ends for the students who participated and the school that took the initiative for spreading such a wise thought of care and concern for environment. “We are sure that this attempt has created the traction required and will definitely have a ripple effect on the society, starting with the current batch of students and their families,” said Mr Vishnu Gaurav Selvaraj, Director - IT & Sports, M S Dhoni Global School, Kasavugatta, Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
The program was attended by distinguished guests and parents, besides the officials of the school management, including Mr Chandrasekar, Chairman; Mrs Bhuvaneswari Chandrasekar, Chairperson; Mr Vineeth Chandrasekar, Director -
Admin & Operations; Mrs Deepitha K R, Director – HR, Mr Vishnu Gaurav Selvaraj, Director - IT & Sports; and the principals - Mrs Hema Malini and Mrs Gayathri. The students and teachers had started preparations for the cultural performances many days ahead. After all it was not an ordinary show.
Coimbatore District Administration and ALERT NGO in Tamil Nadu has set the record for ‘maximum number of people demonstrate basic life support and recovery position’, wherein a total of 5,386 participants joined together and demonstrated basic life support at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, on World First Aid Day (September 10, 2022).
The Asia Book of Records (ABR) team judged the attempt and validated the record.
District Collector of Coimbatore, Dr. GS Sameeran IAS, released an advertisement poster of the training camp regarding first aid techniques for students a few days before the main event.
Dr Sameeran said that the aim of this activity was to encourage the students to save the life of patients in critical conditions. All the participants also took a pledge against the use of narcotic substances as part of the state-wide initiative launched by the Tamil Nadu government. “We are working to realize the dream of a drug-free society,” added the District Collector.
A total of 5386 students, including about 1000 students from Government College of Engineering, 1000 students from Anna University, 200 students from Kumaraguru College of Engineering, 1000 school students, and 2000 Arts and Science College students participted in the attempt. Training on basic first aid treatment for immediate resuscitation of an unconscious person was provided on the occasion.
ALERT (Amenity Lifeline Emergency Response Team), a volunteer driven NGO, empowers the common people in case of an emergency
to ensure ‘Right to Life’ a reality in India, where a life is lost every 4 minutes. This counts to 1,31,400 lives in a year. As per a research, 75-80% people could have been saved, i.e. 98,550 people would have been saved if proper first aid was provided to them at the right time. But none are saved. The basic life support (BLS) training camp spread the mantra for saving lives in these words: Learn before the need arises, Act before it is too late! Get trained in emergency response, if not for others at-least for you and your family! Train one in every family in emergency care! Be a first responder and save lives!
A member of the organising team told the India Book of Records magazine that BLS comes first when someone collapses due to heart failure or other emergency. There are 5 steps in BLS which help a person to give first aid before any medical help arrives. These are: (1) Quickly start the Chain of Survival. (2) Deliver high-quality chest compressions to circulate oxygen to the brain and vital organs. (3) Know when and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). (4) Provide rescue breathing. (5) Understand how to work with other rescuers as part of a team.
The Chain of Survival provides the victim the best chance to receive the care needed and return to a healthy life. When the heart stops, blood flow stops, and the person quickly becomes unconscious. Without blood flow, the heart and the brain quickly become damaged due to a lack of oxygen. The actions that make up BLS try to prevent or slow the damage until the cause of the problem can be corrected.
The record for the maximum number of dancers performing continuous Bharatanatyam Margam was set by Natya Vidushi Dr. Brasil Leons, Founder of Yuva Deepthi Nrithyalaya, School of Performing Arts, Bengaluru, Karnataka, wherein 33 dancers from multiple age groups performed the Bharatanatyam Margam continuously for 40 minutes and 8 seconds at A D A Ranga Mandira, Bengaluru on September 11, 2022. The record has got mentioned in the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records simultaneously.
The organizer of the record-setting performance, Dr Brasil Leons, an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, singer, and choreographer, said, “From the day we applied for the record and got the permission from the India Book of Records to perform, until the moment of our performance, we were very excited. This was really a great achievement for all of us.
Practice sessions were very interesting as well as challenging because multi-age students were performing in the group. Since the students have to perform the Bharatanatyam Margam continuously in coordination with each other, it was quite challenging.”
During her journey in Bharathanatyam, Dr Brasil Leons has performed in various programs and has successfully completed her Poorna exam in this classical dance form. Besides making the record, she also won the title ‘Nava Shakthi Natyamani at International Navarathri Festival. Her dedication and passion for this art form, along with her teacher’s expertise and encouragement from her family have made her the accomplished dancer she is today.
Dr Brasil Leons told the India Book of Records magazine that Bharatnatyam Arangetram dance is one of the most beautiful forms of expression, inspiration, focus, and perfection. It needs a strong devotion and commitment to the art. For every Bharathanatyam artist, Arangetram is a celebration of the art. The word Arangetram comes from the Tamil language, where ‘Arangu‘ means Stage and ‘Ettam‘ means rising or climbing. The Arangetram is a key milestone in the career of
any Bharathanatyam Dancer. It literally means to ascend the stage (Rangapravesham). It is announced after several years of training that the Guru is confident that the disciple can sustain in Bharathanatyam repertoire, Margam (Series of Dance). The Arangetram is an honour to the Guru. a momentous rite of passage. Thus this enables the disciple’s journey into the ocean of Bharatanatyam dance career.
Bharathanatyam is a major form of Indian classical dance that originated in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the eight widely recognized Indian classical dance forms, which expresses South Indian religious themes and spiritual ideas, particularly of Shaivism and in general of Hinduism. A description of Bharathanatyam in the ancient Tamil epic Silappatikaram, while temple sculptures of the 6th to 9th century CE suggest it was a highly refined performance art by the mid-1st millennium CE. Bharatanatyam is the oldest classical dance tradition in India. Bharatanatyam is also the state dance form of Tamil Nadu. The dance contains different types of baanis. Baani, or ‘tradition’, is a Tamil term used to describe the dance technique and style specific to a guru or school.
For an infant’s proper growth and development, breastfeeding is crucial. And a mother’s experience is overwhelming. Therefore, World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) is observed annually to highlight the need for consistent breastfeeding for infants. Since its inception in 1992, World Breastfeeding Week has featured annual themes about healthcare systems, women and the workplace, community
support, the environment, the economy, science, and human rights. “Step Up for Breastfeeding - Educate and Support’ was this year’s World Breastfeeding Week theme.
Bharat Serums & Vaccines Limited, Mumbai, Maharashtra, roped in thousands of medical practitioners across the country to take a pledge to spread awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and early initiation of breastfeeding among
patients via digital commitment during the World Breastfeeding Week. In the process the company created a national record for the ‘maximum doctors pledge to support breastfeeding awareness initiative’. A total of 3006 doctors took part in the attempt, resulting in creating a record under the India Book of Records.
Mr Hardik Jain, Head–Brand Solutions, 6 Sigma Healthcare Communication, who executed the whole activity, told India Book of Records magazine, “Several thousand doctors, mostly gynecologists and pediatricians, were approached by the Bharat Serums & Vaccines Limited representatives to sign the pledge and commit to spread the message of breastfeeding among the patients. A total of 3006 doctors obliged and committed for the social cause.”
He said that breast milk is the best source of nutrition for most babies. As the baby grows, the mother’s breast milk will change to meet her baby’s nutritional needs. Breastfeeding can help protect babies against some short- and long-term illnesses and diseases. Breastfed babies have a lower risk of asthma, obesity, type-1 diabetes, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Breastfed babies are also less likely to have ear infections and stomach bugs. Breast milk shares antibodies from the mother
with her baby. These antibodies help babies develop a strong immune system and protect them from illnesses.
Jain further added that mothers can breastfeed anytime and anywhere. Mothers can feed their babies on the go without worrying about having to mix formula or prepare bottles. When traveling, breastfeeding can also provide a source of comfort for babies whose normal routine is disrupted. Breastfeeding can reduce the mother’s risk of breast and ovarian cancer, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Breastfeeding has health benefits for the mother too. Some cancers, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure are less common among women who breastfeed. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends exclusive breastfeeding for about six months, and then continuing breastfeeding while introducing complementary foods until a child is 12 months old or older.
The major cities where doctors were approached broadly included Delhi, Mumbai (Maharashtra), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Kolkata (West Bengal), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh). All the towns surrounding these cities were explored for maximum coverage. The select gynecologists and child specialists were sent an email by the Bharat Serums & Vaccines Limited with a request to submit their commitment and the pledge.
For how long can a teacher perform her professional duty at a stretch? Four hours, six hours, or a maximum of eight hours. Standing in front of a blackboard for so long and explaining the syllabus continuously can be a daunting task. Imagine, can someone teach Biology subject for 24 hours in a standing position without any breaks? Obviously, the answer will be NO, but Mrs. Pallavi Patodkar Bodile, a biology teacher from Wardha, Gujarat, made it possible and also established a new record of teaching biology for 24 hours. The record has been approved by the prestigious India Book of Records.
This unique attempt was carried out under the joint aegis of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha, and Cell Academy. Pallavi has been teaching Biology for the last ten years at her own institute - the Cell Academy, where her husband looks after the marketing part. After completing her MSc in Biotechnology from Amravati University, Maharashtra in 2010, she started teaching children the very next year. Around 300 students from classes 8th to 12th come to the academy to take coaching for the NEET and JEE.
Pallavi told the India Book of Records that hundreds of children from Wardha used to go to Nagpur and other towns for NEET coaching, yet the number of successful students was very less. In such a situation, she made up her mind to start a coaching class for NEET preparation. Now her institute is a residential campus with a conducive environment for learning around the clock. The residents of the Academy are allowed to use mobile phones only for one hour a day so that they can concentrate more on their studies instead of wasting their time on social media.
One night during the Covid lockdown, she had a dream of setting a world record in teaching her favourite subject --
Biology. Out of curiosity, when she did some research about this, it was found that a similar record was made by someone earlier. On contacting the team of India Book of Records, she was advised to attempt teaching for 16 hours. However, she was confident in teaching nonstop for 18 hours without any breaks.
At 5.40 am on September 15, 2022, she began teaching the Biology subject with a marker in hand and a whiteboard on the wall. Standing continuously and giving lectures to a group of students. A 10-minute break was allowed by the IBR team after every two lectures, but Pallavi did not take advantage of that facility and continued her attempt. IBR Adjudicator Dr. Manoj Tatwadi was present throughout the event for validation on behalf of the India Book of Records. Such was the enthusiasm and confidence of Mrs. Pallavi that even after 18 hours she continued to teach and stopped the next day, September 16, 2022, at 5.55 am. In this way, she had made an incredible record of teaching Biology nonstop for 24 hours and 15 minutes.
This was the teacher’s stamina, but what about the students who joined the activity? Students from class VIII to XII were present in the class in small groups taking turns, although there were 20 students from class XII who sat in the class for the full 24 hours. Poha in the morning and idli in the evening were served as refreshments while drinking water and packed soft drinks were available all the time. The entire activity was shown live on YouTube for 16 hours, while a videography team was present for the entire 24-hour recording.
In a novel effort to enhance support for the selfless service done by the medical practitioners within the country and to help them to serve the humanity more and better, an awareness cum people connect campaign was undertaken on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day (July 1, 2022). The record for “maximum doctors’ messages for the general public posted online” found a worthy place on the prestigious pages of the Asia Book of Records (ABR)
This initiative is to be seen within the context of the nation’s medical resource personnel who work relentlessly to fulfill the healthcare needs of tens of millions of sufferers, even beneath demanding and anxious working conditions. The campaign #DoctorsVoiceMatters echoed the messages of over 5,992 medical doctors, that purpose at empowering sufferers with the suitable data and efficient healthcare options in return for some empathy, belief and respect.
Lengthy work hours, lack of sleep, anxious working circumstances and affected persons’ calls keep the doctors on their toes. Members of the medical fraternity would be capable of prolong higher care to the sufferers if solely sufferers confirmed extra empathy towards them.
“Doctors work persistently for the wellbeing of patients, and they are here to give the right medical advice. However, self-diagnosis based on internet content has somehow become a norm and this could be extremely risky. It is time we move away from managing our diseases solely based on the internet and trust our qualified doctors for effective solutions,” said Dr. Pierre Perez, Managing Director, Servier India, in a communication sent to the India Book of Records monthly magazine.
“Often well-meaning medical doctors, who regardless of being earnest of their job, are being put to scrutiny by patients or their kin with little or no information about ailments, diagnoses or therapy procedures, hindering the medical doctors’ work. It goes without saying that it is extremely important to respect the medical practitioners’ time, since with every minute saved, another precious life qualifies to be saved. A lot of questions based on halfbaked information can simply be avoided. This will give doctors more time to focus on patient care,” asserted Dr. Perez.
Medical doctors on any given day should cope with various kinds of sufferers and their caregivers. What makes their process much more difficult is to cope with sufferers who’re reluctant to reveal their medical history or just a few others who search for quick-fix options to the well being points they face. “If there’s a quick-fix answer, medical doctors collaborating within the marketing campaign mentioned, they would be the first to let the sufferers know. Till then, it is best if sufferers proceed to stick to prescribed medicines,” Dr. Perez cautioned.
The messages gathered from the doctors by the way of hashtag #DoctorsVoiceMatters the campaign was additionally posted on social media. The campaign solely hoped to drive people to respect their medical doctors’ voice for their very own well-being.
The EVO India Magazine has made it to the India Book of Records once again. This time the EVO team made a record for “driving the first electric car to the highest motorable road”. Driving the Tata Nexon EV Max to Umling La pass at 19,024 feet, while connecting Chisumle and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh, the team started the journey from Leh and completed the record attempt on September 18, 2022.
The record-making drive attempt began in the Thar desert in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It was a real test of the Electric Cars in the high ranges of Ladakh. The team stayed at the Fortune Resorts, which has Leh’s first EV (Electric Vehicle) charger installed by Lion Charge. The Nexon EV Max was set to climb from 11,500 feet in Leh to 14,764 feet in Hanle over a distance of 250km. And then they had two high-altitude passes that took them to 19,024 feet over 75km, half of it over dirt roads. The car head out of Leh with 99% charge and 412km of range in Eco mode. There was pin-drop silence and zero pollution outside of Leh.
Leh to Hanle, for the most part, was a smooth and winding road with views so spectacular, the cameras became busy taking amazing shots. On the way, the car found a massive Army convoy at exactly the same place where the road had been dug up in preparation for a fresh new surface. Henle, home to the world’s tenth-highest optical telescope, was recently officially designated as India’s first Dark Sky Sanctuary, an area where artificial light pollution is restricted to promote astronomy as well as the study of environmental history.
Describing the journey to the India Book of Records, Mr Shirish Chandra, Editor of EVO India, said, “It was an unforgettable experience. No need for trick photography at Hanle in Ladakh, you see millions of stars with the naked eye. It’s a star gazers paradise. Stare at one spot for long enough and you will be treated to a shooting star. The next morning we wake up to a dusting of fresh snow on the mountains. Starting the journey we passed through the insanely gorgeous Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary, silently creeping past endangered species such as the wild ass, marmot, and Tibetan gazelle grazing on the plateau with black-necked cranes sweeping past.”
30km later the track crumbled into a rough and rutted path. The team then tasted sweet tea and amazing
hot samosas at the solitary dhaba in Chismule. The Nexon EV Max at this height was a surprise to the BSF guards posted there. The fact that this was the first Electric Car to climb the highest road in the world quickly brought out the other guards and they join in as the India Book of Records adjudicator ratified a new national record, presenting Shirish Chandra with the achievement certificate and a medal.
“We had to wrap up in 15 minutes, as our bodies physically cannot take the effects of extreme altitude. No wonder they had an oxygen cafe right up there, and we put it to good use while revelling in a massive challenge unlocked, the highest an electric car has gone up to on a public road, anywhere in the world,” summed up Shirish.
something new by creating 1008 micro-sized Ganesha idols, each weighing 0.090 mg, for which he has been honored with a certificate and a medal by the India Book of Records. All these miniature Ganesha idols are similar in every aspect -- having the same weight and same measurement. A miniature idol of Lord Ganesha, created by Arjun, looks like the chemical pasted on the top end of a small matchstick. The Ganesha is in a sitting posture. The first 15 idols could not be made properly, but the 16th one was perfect. After the casting of the silver idol, it was filed carefully, then buffed and silver polished. After this, it took him two weeks to prepare 1007 more idols. He completed this task while doing his other routine work of manufacturing silver ornaments for jewellery shops.
Putting together all these 1008 miniature Ganesha idols, Arjun surprised everyone by creating a portrait of the Kannada actor the Late Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar. It was his own way of paying homage to his beloved film actor. He did it with all his heart and also earned the distinction of setting a record. He has framed the portrait of Dr. Puneeth, which he intends to present to the actor’s wife Mrs. Ashwani Puneeth Rajkumar as a respect to the departed soul. Arjun has spent approximately Rs 50,000 on the portrait, but he will not charge a single penny for it. This is a great example of a fan’s devotion and deep love for his beloved actor.
Have you ever seen miniature models of cars or airplanes?
You may also find cute-looking miniature cookers, fridges, cricket bats, or micro idols of gods and goddesses, which you can display on your study table, car dashboard, or cupboard as a showpiece. Miniature art is much in demand. However, not every miniature model can necessarily be placed on a table. Some miniature pieces are so minute in size that they have to be viewed with a magnifying lens. A new record of one such miniature art has been set by a young enterprising silversmith Arjun BR, from Bengaluru, Karnataka, which has been recognised by the India Book of Records (IBR).
Arjun has set a national record for making the smallest silver miniature of Lord Ganesha. He has fulfilled his dream of doing
Born on August 31, 1986, Arjun, after studying till class X, joined his ancestral profession of making gold and silver jewelry. He has his own workshop in Bengaluru where he makes jewelry. He gets work orders for jewelry from the jewellery shops. To make jewelry, he set up his own small casting unit with 10 machines. A variety of molds are used to create different shapes of jewellery. Arjun while talking to the India Book of Records informed that CAS, CAM, liquid mold and wax, etc. are used to cast the jewellery pieces. The heart is central to not only our life but also to poetry and music because if it malfunctions then our connection with life is disrupted. That is why it’s important to keep our hearts healthy and to do so the World Heart Federation celebrates September 29 globally as World Heart Day. The theme for ‘World Heart Day 2022’ was ‘Use Heart for Every Heart’, which intends to motivate people to find an opportunity to use their thinking and actions towards the betterment of humanity, nature, and themselves, through which growth in mortality rate due to cardiovascular diseases could be curbed.
To further build on this concept of Use Heart for Every Heart, Rosycap - a popular Rosuvastatin brand in India, used to treat heart disease initiated a campaign to connect doctors with patients. On the occasion of National Lipid Day (May 10, 2022) radio messages from doctors were aired to make more and more people aware of the menace of heart disease and ways to avoid it.
The awareness campaign took the next step by getting educational messages from doctors on how to keep our hearts healthy. More than 7510 doctors from across India participated
in this drive on the occasion of World Heart Day (September 29, 2022). All these messages were put together to create a heart-shaped collage at The Turf, BMC Ranjit Ground, Thane Maharashtra. The event was widely covered and shown live on social media during the day so that a maximum number of people could get the message of well-being.
This activity initiated by Rosycap, Noveltis, Akumentis Healthcare Limited, Mumbai, Maharashtra, set a record under the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records simultaneously. The record was accomplished in the presence of the adjudicator from the India Book of Records along with Dr Rajiv Karnik, renowned Cardiologist and the chief guest of the program. Akumentis Corporate team was also present. Dr Karnik gave some valuable information on the rise of heart diseases and how people can keep their hearts healthy in the present time.

Can you show their exact position also on the world map? Sounds difficult? He identified it all in a short span of 3 minutes, 32 seconds and 2 milliseconds at the age of 6 years and 5 months. The India Book of Records has appreciated the boy for his exceptional abilities.
The child, Gaurav was born on March 14, 2016 in Bengaluru. His father Rajesh Tiwari and mother Shraddhanjali Dash, both are investment bankers by profession. Gaurav has a sharp memory and loves to watch geography, science, and general knowledge related programs on Television. One day he was watching a TV program ‘Malta’s Got Talent’,
to identify all the 195 countries of the world, along with 5 oceans and 7 continents also on the world map. He showcased this ability during a talent hunt competition in his school and got the first prize.
Gaurav secured first rank in English in an All India Examination conducted by Marrs Spell Bee on June 10, 2021, followed by a second rank in an International Level Examination conducted by the same organization on November 26, 2021. He gets first class marks in almost all the competitions and examinations held in his school. For most of the achievements, he has received several awards and certificates.

Every child is born intelligent and it is the responsibility of the parents to identify the areas of interest of their children and encourage them to excel and do more and
If any work or ritual is performed with faith and devotion in the heart, then besides success in the endevours, mental peace is also obtained. With this spirit, millions of devotees walk barefoot to the ancient temple of Maa Ambaji in Gujarat every year during Bhadravi Purnima in the month of September. An astrologer and journalist from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Dr. Pankaj Yashwantrai Nagar has completed 33 barefoot padyatras to this famous temple in the last three decades period for which he has been awarded a letter of appreciation by the India Book of Records (IBR).
The distance from Ahmedabad to Maa Ambaji temple is about 200 km, and Dr. Nagar covers this journey every time on foot. In 1979, he visited the Ambaji temple for the first time, where he met Mr. Mark Tully, the senior most journalist from BBC in India. Tully was surprised to see that all the devotees were walking barefoot. Dr. Nagar has been doing this annual yatra every year from 1988 onwards. He has completed a total of 33 yearly padyatras so far. He feels better than before after every yatra. He feels that by the grace of goddess Ambaji all his wishes get fulfilled. He is 68 years now, but he never feels any tiredness or laziness during the religious journey.
Dr. Pankaj Nagar told the India Book of Records that earlier about five lakh devotees used to go to the temple, but the number has increased now to more than 35 lakhs. Devotees reach Maa Ambaji Temple from all places including Surat, Mumbai, etc. About 15 other people from Ahmedabad also used to walk to the temple along with him, some of whom have died, while others are not much active, but Nagar completes the padyatra every year with full devotion. During the Covid pandemic during 2020-21, the Temple remained closed, and there was no arrangement for langars on the way, yet he continued to undertake padyatras. Under normal circumstances, about 400 to 500 camps are set up on the yatra route, in which free food and accommodation is provided to the devotees.
The Ambaji shrine is dedicated to the goddess Arasuri Amba, who has been worshiped since the pre-Vedic period. The temple is surrounded by an open square called chachar chowk where havans are performed. The inner sanctum of the temple has silver-plated doors. There is no idol of the goddess inside the temple, perhaps because the shrine is so ancient that it predates idol worship. The ecstatic festival of Navratri is celebrated all over Gujarat in reverence of Ambaji, by dancing the Garba around the Holy Mother. On these nine nights, the Nayak and Bhojok communities also perform bhavai theater.
Dr. Nagar has been active in the field of astrology since 1984. He obtained his doctorate in astrology from the Vedic Astrology School of Kashi Banaras Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, in June 2000. He has authored 7 books on astrology and is the only astrologer from Gujarat to have written an English book also on the subject. Apart from rendering his services to the digital edition of Divya Bhaskar newspaper,
Sri Rajan Swamy, a spiritual master from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has set a new record by translating the holy verses (chaupais) into maximum languages of the world, for which his name has been included in the prestigious India Book of Records (IBR). Sri Rajan Swamy was born in 1966 in the village Sisotar of Ballia district in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In his student life, Swami used to be the topper in class, and in his free time, he used to read the books of the next class also. As a teenager, he started doing regular spiritual practice at home for 4-5 hours a day and at the age of 18, he left home and took sannyasa. After that, he never went back to his home again. It is also worth mentioning here that he never slept lying down during his sadhana but spent the night sitting in a meditative position. The first book written by him is Satyanjali, which confirms the principles of Sri Nijanand Sampraday. In the year 2005, he established Shri Prannath Jnanpith in Sarsawa. Through
this institution, he propagates spiritual teachings and moral education in society.
He has made a record by translating 18,758 verses (chaupais) of Shri Kuljam Swaroop Granth into 133 languages of the world with the support of information technology. Prominent among these languages are: English, Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Chinese, Dogri, French, Japanese, Gujarati, Marathi, Nepali, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu, Persian, Vietnamese, etc. ‘Kuljam Swaroop’ means the complete collection (Kuljama) of the teachings of Swami Prananath, in which the true nature of Swami is preserved. It is a treatise of about 1000 pages, divided into 14 sections. Among these sections, Raas, Prakash, Kalas, Kirantan, Khulawal, Khilwat, Parakarma, Sagar, Singar, Sindhi Bani, Marfat, etc. are notable. Most of the verses are in Hindi or Gujarati language.
Kuljam Swaroop Granth is written by Swami Prannath. There are 18,000 holy verses in this book. Like Guru Granth Sahib, Kuljam Swaroop is also worshiped in every Pranami temple as a scripture. Children of the Pranami sect are made to study this book for many years in the school set up inside the Pranami temple campus, built by Maharaj Chhatrasal in Panna. In the Pranami sect, this book is called ‘Kuljam Swaroop’, ‘Swaroop Sahab’, ‘Taratamya Sagar’, or ‘Nijanand Sagar’.
Mr Shreyas Waghela, a disciple of Sri Rajan Swami, said in a conversation with the India Book of Records monthly magazine that the entire human race could get the benefit of Kuljam Swaroop, for this purpose it was resolved to translate the book into multiple languages of the world. Its translation took four months. Every devotee in the country and abroad associated with Shri Kuljam Swaroop wanted the essence to be available in their own languages so that they could understand it better. Then Sri Rajan Swami decided to get it translated into all the languages of the world. The help of Google Translate was taken frequently, but an editorial team personally took pain to improve and correct the meaning.

Growing in this environment, Shagun memorized Gayatri Chalisa without much effort. When she was four years old, she recited the Gayatri Mantra clearly. She does not like
smartphones much and only watches a few serials or cartoon programmes on Television. But, she prefers to play with the children of Society. She prefers simple eatables and doesn’t like junk food.

Hanuman Chalisa is a Hindu devotional hymn (strot) in praise of the Lord Hanuman. It was written by Tulsidas in the Awadhi language and is considered his most famous text after the Ramcharitmanas. Apart from Awadhi, Hanuman Chalisa is also available in various languages including Sanskrit, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, and Bengali. The word Chalisa is derived from ‘Chalis’ (40), a Hindi number, as Hanuman Chalisa contains 40 Chaupais or verses (except couplets at the beginning and at the end). Geetansh Goyal, a 4-year and 3-month-old boy from Bathinda, Punjab, has received a letter of appreciation from the India Book of reciting Hanuman Chalisa in a short span of 1 minute and
a Durga Jagaran was organized by Salasar Mandal, in which kids were invited to participate in a singing competition for presenting bhajans and other religious songs. Many children took part in the contest, where Geetansh won a cash prize of Rs 31,000. It was a unique achievement in itself that a four-year-old child recited Hanuman Chalisa in just 1 minute and 54 seconds duration. Although, now he is able to recite the complete Hanuman Chalisa in 1 minute 10 seconds only.
The child’s mother, Dr. Amandeep Goyal, MDS, is a dental surgeon in Bathinda. She explained that Geetansh studies in LKG at Saraswati Convent School, Maur Mandi, Bathinda, Punjab, while her elder son - Manan is a student of class 6. Both the children had prepared for Hanuman Chalisa. She helped them learn the Chalisa by reciting two lines at a time. Once the famous bhajan singer of Punjab, Kanhaiya Mittal had a program near Sangrur, where Geetansh asked him for the mic to sing a bhajan. Mittal was also surprised to see his performance. Geetansh memorized the Gayatri Mantra at the age of two and a half years.
father, Dr. Vipin Chander Goyal (MD - Medicine) told the India Book of Records monthly magazine that
Dr. Vipin Goyal said that he is leaving no stone unturned to nurture the talent of their children. Geetansh is also likely to sing with Ms. Abhilipsa Panda, who has sung the popular song – ‘Har Har Shambhu’. He further said that according to Shaivite tradition, Hanuman is also an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The powers of Hanuman have been praised in various folk tales. Hanuman is well-known for his qualities, his strength, courage, wisdom, celibacy, and devotion to Lord Rama. There is a detailed explanation of this in Hanuman Chalisa also. The recitation or chanting of Hanuman Chalisa is a common religious practice in Hinduism. Hanuman Chalisa sung by singer Hariharan has been viewed more than 2 billion times on YouTube as of June 2022. It has become the first devotional song to achieve such a feat on the platform.
It is said that most children are born with some talent or the other. Some parents recognize the talents of their children in the early days and start grooming them. They are given a proper environment and training, which brings out their special talent. An infant from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Hridhaan’s interest was recognized by his mother when he was eight months old. When the mother showed the child a few black and white flash cards, she noticed that he looked at them carefully for a few minutes. Round, triangular and other shapes were shown on these cards. When he started sitting, he was exposed to colorful flashcards with pictures of animals, birds, famous buildings and cartoons, etc. In all, more than 500 cards were shown, which the child began to identify without much effort.
Hridhaan Gupta, at the age of 1 year and 11 months, has set a record of identifying the flags of 100 countries in 5 minutes and 45 minutes, which has been recognized by the India Book of Records (IBR). When he was one year old, his mother, Ms. Aastha Gupta, an MBA in Financial Marketing, showed him pictures of fruits, vegetables, and then flags of different countries. Aastha is the CEO of a financial company and is often out during the day. She used to devote at least 30 minutes every day to the child when she returned home in the evening. At times, he himself used to hold his mother’s finger and take her to the flash cards. The mother showed flags of popular countries, but the child took more interest in flags of lesser-known countries such as Palau, Peru, and Haiti, as their names were simpler.
Ms. Aastha while talking to India Book of Records, said she came across the achievements of some children in a video and then thought that why not apply for recognition as her child was also able to identify the flags of around 40 countries at a tender age. “One day I showed Hridhaan a video on YouTube with flags from around the world. He looked at each flag
carefully. A few days later, when Hridhaan was sitting with his grandmother, when she showed him the flashcards of flags, he identified the flags of 100 countries one by one in hardly five minutes. When the evidence was sent to the IBR office, it was recognized as a new record, which was a big achievement,” she quipped.
Hridhaan is fond of food. You give him any type of boiled vegetables, he eats them all with great love. His day begins with music and he is also fond of traveling in a car. His mother, grandfather, and grandmother have also a liking for music. The kid remembers all the rhymes, including Chakde India which he likes the most. Being in a joint family, he plays with a cousin who is four years elder than him, from whom he also learns many new things and skills. Mother now wants to show him pictures of the world’s popular leaders. Aastha says that the potential of a child should not be underestimated. Bill Gates said somewhere that “a child learns nine times faster than an adult, and he remembers this learning until s/he is 80 years old”. Ridhan’s father, Agam Gupta is the Executive Director of Share India Fincap Pvt Ltd.
