Points to note: o This programme is open to 3rd generation youth/children [between the ages of 18-30 years] of Indian origin PIO/OCI Card holders who have never visited India before. o Minimum qualification required for participating in KIP is Graduation from a recognized University /Institute or enrolled for Graduation; knowledge of English essential – will have to show required documents in this regard. o The applicants also need to submit the following: o Medical Fitness Certificate; o Information on allergies, if any; o If selected they will also need to submit: o International Travel and Medical Insurance Cover 1|P a g e

Cultural Heritage - Festivals of India Dree Festival (July 05, 2019) Dree is an agriculture-related celebration of the Apatani Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. Held annually, it is celebrated to seek the blessings of the gods & goddesses of crops for good harvest and is comprised of singing, dancing, sacrificial offerings, prayers, and other cultural performances. Reflecting the rich culture of the tribe at its best, there’s no doubt that Dree is one of the most famous events of the state. Palkhi Festival (July, 2019) Highlighting a unique feature of the Maharashtrian culture, this 1000-year old festival celebrated in July in India is absolutely one-of-its-kind. The palkhi begins at the start of the month, comprises of people singing and dancing until they reach Pandharpur, and ends on the 22nd day. If not anything, the custom of ‘wari’ and people wearing Dnyanba-Tukaram will definitely amuse you.
