Consulate News Notice Regarding Consular Camps in Regina and Saskatoon Consular camps have been planned on 12 May 2019 in Regina and on 19 May 2019 in Saskatoon cities. Visit to PICS Society, Vancouver (May 08, 2019) Consul General Mrs. Abhilasha Joshi visited Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society, Vancouver and appreciated their services in assisted living and day care catering to the diverse needs of the elderly community members.

Visit to UBC, Vancouver (May 03, 2019) Consul General Mrs. Abhilasha Joshi visited University of British Columbia in Vancouver and presented a set of 49 books on Indian History, Culture and Philosophy as part of "Bharat Ek Parichay - India Corner" to Director Anne Murphy for CISAR-Centre for India and South Asia Research for their library on 3rdh May, 2019.

11th Surrey International Trade Awards Reception (May 09, 2019) 11th Surrey International Trade Awards was hosted by Surrey Board of Trade on May 09, 2019 at Civic Hotel, Surrey. The award was presented to Northwest Mettech Corp for the success and commitment of Businesses to international trade. Consulate representatives Mr. Nikunj Nayak and Mr. Gibson Mathew Jacob attended the Trade show and proudly promoted “Make in India” and “Investment opportunities in India.

Cultural Heritage - Festivals of India Summer Festival - Mount Abu (May - June) The summer festival of Mt. Abu of Rajasthan is held every year during Buddha Poornima in the month of May or June The Summer festival of Rajasthan celebrates the affection and joyfulness of the people of hill station, their colorful life and cheerful nature, who welcome the tourist from the depth of their hearts. Mount Abu of Rajasthan is a major pilgrim tourist center situated near Udaipur in south-west of the state of Rajasthan in India and also happens to be the only Hill Station of Rajasthan. This good-looking heaven comes alive with festivities every summer in the Hindu month of Aashadh (May – June). News from/of India 1. India has added two new tech unicorns in just the last month 2019 is turning out to be great for Indian internet ventures. It’s not even mid-way into the year, and the country has already seen two internet firms achieve unicorn valuations, and at least one more is close to the milestone. On May 06, online grocer BigBasket said it has received $150 million (Rs1,040 crore) in funding from South Korea’s Mirae Asset-Naver Asia Growth Fund, UK’s CDC Group, and existing investor Alibaba, at a valuation of over $1 billion. Infra sector has PE/VC inflows jumping 79% in Apr at US$ 4.4 b Mumbai: Private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) inflows rose to USD 4.4 billion in April, a clipping at a healthy 79 percent growth over USD 2.4 billion in same month last year.
