AREA 10 Owners’ Suite

AREA DESCRIPTION The Owners’ Suite takes a Contemporary twist on Traditional. The starring role is a traditional chinoiserie wallpaper and is the inspiration for the room. All supporting roles are taken from cues in the wallpaper, such as the use of yellow on the custom upholstered bed and a vintage sofa. Restful shades of smokey lavender soothe a bold scheme, while splashes of white ground the room. An unpredictable mixture of both new and vintage finds gives the room soul, while art and objects add interest and sophistication. To give the room order, balance, and architectural interest, panel molding was installed to compliment the existing crown and picture molding. Painting all moldings white unifies the trim.

AREA 11 Owners’ Bath

AREA DESCRIPTION The bath was thoughtfully designed to be an elegant, peaceful retreat. Personalized vanities allow ample space for daily routines. The lady’s area has customized pull-outs, while the gentleman’s area has smartly appointed storage allowing for uncluttered counter space. The beautiful linen armoire offsets the asymmetry, balancing it to the window and the soaking tub. The new marble floor allows for modern design of a curbless shower. The luxurious shower fixtures and stunning mosaic tile create a dynamic focal point.

AREA 13 The Lattice Bath

AREA DESCRIPTION One of the challenges of transforming this relatively modern era bathroom into the serene en suite you see today was the existence of a door that led directly to the front hallway. By removing the extra door, we were able to enlarge the shower as well as relocate the vanity. The exquisite lattice-pattern decorative wall tile, modern subway tile and stained wood accents add a touch of sophistication, while providing a relatively neutral background for personalizing the space to suit the vibrant personality of the homeowners.

AREA DESCRIPTION Astral is defined as “coming from the stars.” It is a word that describes something beautiful, as well as something visionary. Both definitions are appropriate for Astral Night, the mosaic in the shower. Calacatta marble is the field tile in the shower, and honed sable marble is on the floor. The bespoke vanity is painted to coordinate with the mosaic in the shower. A Calacatta counter, brass hardware and the Levoir faucet compliment the vanity. Accessories are the jewelry of any beautiful room. Bath fixtures and monogrammed towels all add elegance to this refined space.

AREA DESCRIPTION Gorgeous fabrics in a striking palette envelop guests in gracious comfort and exquisite taste! The lavish floral backdrop sets the tone, with the added detail of its curtain rod wrapped in a fine-gauge pinstripe in crisp counterpoint to the animated pattern of the drape. The sumptuous bed beckons, swathed in buttercream. Arcing across the bed and tables, the oversized upholstered camelback headboard evokes generous hospitality, while the matching footboard thoughtfully doubles as a settee. AREA 19 Nursery & Bath

AREA DESCRIPTION The original space was an office and bath which were in need of updates. The office was transformed into a gender-neutral nursery. The bath was updated with a wall mounted faucet, tub, and marble shower walls. The baby picket polished marble floor tile adds some architectural detail to the small bath. The custom vanity with inset drawers and inset brass pulls create a timeless design.

AREA 20 First Floor Guest Bathroom

AREA DESCRIPTION Inspired by the home’s classic style, I chose timeless elements with art deco hints. The original layout was limited by a door leading into the adjacent bedroom. Closing off the door allowed the sink to be relocated from the left side of the room and tucked into the corner. By removing the bathtub and adding a shower, the bathroom becomes more usable for guests. The navy walls and ceiling contrasted with the light tiles infuses a bit of drama into the space.

AREA 21 The Office Retreat

AREA DESCRIPTION The Office Retreat is more than just a place to conduct business. It is a space that allows a homeowner to celebrate his love of the American and Canadian “West.” A hide-covered steer horn table from Texas plays off the rustic custom furnishings from Old Hickory. Fly casting gear brings memories of that fishing trip on the Campbell River in British Columbia. Historic documents including one signed by Theodore Roosevelt, a US Cavalry officer’s uniform from the 1880’s, an extraordinary Northern Plains Native American shield (c. 1890), and Navajo textiles further capture the spirit and mystique of the West.
