The Translation Arch is made of .016" × .022" TMA for .018" bracket slots.

This beta-titanium wire has a modulus of elasticity about two-fifths that of a stainless steel wire of the same dimensions. The lower modulus of elasticity provides three clinical advantages:

1. Greater working range. 2. Greater amount of preactivation possible,4 to achieve the moment-toforce ratio of 10 required for translatory movement.5,6 3. Simplified archwire design possible.
