Later Modifications Maxillary anterior brackets incorporate a bite plane designed into the incisal edge of the bracket (Fig. 2). The bite plane is parallel to the archwire and the occlusal plane. Patient selection . Maxillary incisor lingual crown heights of less than 6mm will not permit sufficient space for bonding the brackets to avoid gingival impingement and still finish with 1 to 2mm of overbite. Mandibular bicuspids
