AIBC unveils the biggest Australian IndianB2B event in Southern Hemisphere
The Australia India International Business Summit (AIIBS) got underway on August 23 with the launching of the AIBC Youth Business Leaders Chapter on the first day, followed by an engaging Startup Expo and Business Networking Session. As the large and growing Australian Indian diaspora is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, this year is also especially significant considering the recently signed bilateral Economic Cooperation Trade Agreement and leading towards the CECA – Free Trade Agreement by the end of this year.

About the Summit, President, AIBC NSW State Chapter Irfan Malik, who is also a key organiser of the Business Summit, said, “For the first time in the history of Australia India trade programs, the AIBC Business Summit will also have a strong focus on Australia – India Bi-lateral opportunities for the Indigenous and First Nations Businesses to leverage and accelerate engagement with the Indian market. The event will also have a virtual showcase of many startups and businesses from both Australia and India on the online web-portal for businesses to relationship and celebrating the 75th Indian Independence Day, the Australia India Business Council Ltd (AIBC) organised a three-day AIBC Australia India International Business Summit (AIIBS) from 23-25 August at the Four seasons Hotel in Sydney. A large contingent of business leaders from both Australia and India, and dignitaries, Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, and highranking Government of India officials attended and participated in the AIIBS. Many government and partner organisations, including Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; High Commission of India, Canberra; connect and build strong business pathways.”

Earlier speaking about the Summit, Immediate Past National Chair of AIBC and co-organiser of the Business Summit Sheba Nandkeolyar said, “AIBC is very confident that this AIIBS 2022 Business Summit will create the momentum and successes to accelerate business to business outcomes and will be a key milestone for Australia India bilateral trade and engagement.”
National Director of Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre Michael Sharpe had earlier echoed similar sentiments saying, “It will be a terrific event and a great opportunity for businesses to connect with each other.”
