LNP candidate for Lilley stresses on importance of inclusivity
Even as the nation gears up for the upcoming elections, one of the most marginal seats in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Lilley recently experienced a reshuffle in its Liberal National Party (LNP) candidate with Mr Vivian Lobo emerging as the new face of the party’s electoral campaign following the withdrawal of the previous candidate, Ryan Shaw.
Erstwhile treasurer Wayne Swan had in the past held the seat which is presently represented by Ms Anika Wells of the Labor Party.

“I think people want competence, they want competence, they want people looking after them, they want confidence that there’s a plan, things will get better,” Ms Wells commented to A Current Affair.

Despite having entered the race for the Lilley seat relatively later than other candidates, Vivian Lobo, the new LNP candidate for Lilley, has his own strategy.
It came down to little over 1200 votes in the last election, and the electorate's mood this time might determine who becomes Australia's next Prime Minister.
The LNP won the primary vote in Lilley in 2019 but could not make it on preferences, and this time, Mr Vivian Lobo, a parent and education administration worker, believes he, too, has momentum despite his late entry into the contest.

"I believe we need to bring in inclusion, and that is what I bring to this table," Mr Lobo added.
Mr Lobo is a PHD student of Torrens University Australia and has been the Director of Brisbane-based Leaders Institute Private Ltd since 2016.
