AIBC Chair meets Australian High Commissioner to boost Australia-India trade ties

Australia India Business Council’s (AIBC) National Chair Deepak-Raj Gupta OAM recently met with Philip Green OAM, Australian High Commissioner to India, at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. The meeting was constructive and resultsoriented, focusing on advancing bilateral trade and investment, particularly in alignment with the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) and the ongoing Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) negotiations.

The High Commissioner assured his full support in strengthening economic engagement from both sides to further AIBC’s objectives.

Their discussions covered key areas where Australia and India could expand collaboration, particularly in trade, business, and strategic partnerships. Furthering the dialogue on economic cooperation, Gupta also met with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) officials, exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The discussions highlighted potential opportunities in sectors where both nations can leverage each other's resources, technology, and expertise for mutual benefit.

Meanwhile, former AIBC Vice Chair Ravneet Pawha remains actively engaged in shaping the Australia-India economic dialogue, reinforcing the strong ties between the two countries. These discussions reflect the ongoing momentum in the Australia-India partnership, with AIBC playing a key role in facilitating meaningful connections between industry leaders and policymakers.
