Moradabadi Daal by ‘Wat Do You Meal’
Have you ever thought whether moong daal (yellow lentil) soupy dish full of protein could be scrumptious? What Do You Meal guys have done just that for you.
Nothing better than bringing street food into your kitchen with fresh ingredients and nutrients. Here’re the eight steps to make it happen.

1) Soak moong daal 4 cups overnight (usually comes to 6 serves).
2) Green chutney, made of 1 bunch of coriander, 1/4 bunch of mint, lemon, cumin seeds, black salt, 2cms ginger, salt, green chillies. Blend all ingredients. Keep aside.
4) Heat 1 spoon of oil in a small pan; add red chillies until they fry. Keep aside.
6) Bring the soaked moong daal to boil in double the quantity of water in a pressure cooker. Now remove the white foamy residue. Add 1/4 spoon asafoetida, 1 spoon salt, 1/4 spoon turmeric. Whistle it 2 times on low flame.
5) Cut blocks of butter, paneer (you can skip butter, if you don’t want the calories).

7) Open the pressure cooker.
8) Now pour the daal in bowls, garnish with green chutney, roasted cumin (step 3), crush the red chillies (step 4 ) on top. Squeeze some lemon according to taste, and add the butter, paneer, and a pinch of black salt. It’s ready to eat.
WDYM tip: It goes well with jalebis too. We know a lot of you aren’t very convinced but it tastes totally yum. The sweet, sour and savory soupy texture works wonders.
