The grand opening of Hotel Saravana Bhavan in Brisbane, recently, marked a new milestone for this globally renowned vegetarian restaurant chain.


Originally from Chennai, Hotel Saravana Bhavan has become a symbol of authentic South Indian cuisine with its signature dishes like Masala Dosa, Rava Kesari, Filter Coffee, Medu Vada, and Pongal.


This new branch adds to the brand’s impressive international presence, with outlets spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The expansion into Australia and New Zealand has been particularly notable, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Shekar Mani. A passionate foodie with an academic background from IIM Calcutta and Stanford University, Mani’s vision and drive have been instrumental in the brand’s success in this region.
The opening event was a starstudded affair attended by Consul General of India in Brisbane Neetu Bhagotia, MPs Corrine McMillan (Mansfield) and Peter Russo (Sunny Bank), and LNP’s Pinky Singh (Mansfield), alongside other Indian and multicultural leaders. Their presence highlighted the cultural significance and wide appeal of Hotel Saravana Bhavan.
With its new Brisbane location, Hotel Saravana Bhavan continues to share the rich flavours of South Indian cuisine with food enthusiasts around the world, further solidifying its place as a beloved global brand.
