Business lounge services launched at Sydney Consulate

Consul General of India in Sydney Dr S Janakiraman inaugurated a business lounge and concierge services facility at the Consulate on July 3. It is a significant step by the Consulate on the continuous effort to facilitate and promote businesses between Australia and India, in particular with the states of New South Wales (NSW) and South Australia.



During the event, the Consul General presented the Australian company registration certificate to Rajeev Koundinya, the representative of Mede Focus Aus Pty Ltd, an Australian branch of an Indian medical equipment and healthcare sector manufacturer based in Chennai. Warren Kirby Kirby MP, Co-Chair of NSW Parliamentary Friends of India, a strong supporter of bilateral trade and investments, as well as Irfan Malik, National Associate Chair and president of AIBC-NSW Australia joined the Consul General in felicitating the company and soft inauguration of the lounge.
According to a Facebook post by the Sydney Consulate, interested business persons have an opportunity to directly interact with the trade and commerce team of the Consulate to seek guidance, share views, provide feedback on the website, and so on. They can access important databases of importers, exporters, companies’ reports, etc. The lounge is centrally located in Sydney (CBD) well connected to public transport by train, bus, and light rail, and is approximately 30 minutes from the airport. The lounge is equipped with workstations, video conferencing set up and systems, including computers and printers with internet access so as to facilitate smooth operation of productive business meetings, both online and in person meetings, and provides a focused and private environment. The business lounge can be availed of during any of the working days from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on prior appointment/ registration. Business visitors are free to use the facility with no cost, says India’s Sydney Consulate Facebook post.
