New services to support growing suburb

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Councillor Angela Owen (Calamvale Ward) have today joined with representatives Aaron Delaney, Ausbuild Senior Development Manager and Michael Loney, Ausbuild Joint Managing Director to turn the sod on the first stage of a longawaited childcare facility at the corner of Laxton Rd and Ritchie Rd, Pallara.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the new facilities would service the booming region.

“Pallara is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Brisbane and this new centre will make accessing local amenities even easier,” Cr Schrinner said.

“With Pallara home to many young families, having new childcare facilities close to home will bring peace of mind to parents, while the future retail opportunities will provide local jobs and bring more amenities to the community.”

Cr Angela Owen said “residents have been waiting with anticipation to have access to new family focused facilities within the suburb and I am pleased we have confirmation that construction will be started shortly at this site, with future retail opportunities to follow”.

“There has been significant indication of support from residents for these facilities and I am pleased that a service provider Happy Hearts has been confirmed prior to construction starting”.

“In the past 4 years alone, the suburb of Pallara has grown from 762 homes to 2,686 consisting predominantly of young families, this centre is a welcome addition to our local community”, said Cr Angela Owen.

Mr Loney comments: “Ausbuild is dedicated to supporting the construction of new homes that are affordable for young and growing families, and continue to build a strong sense of community within Brisbane.

“To date, we have built over 1,100 homes in Pallara under our Prominence development. As part of these communities, and with the support of investment from Loney Bell Capital, we’ve delivered critical infrastructure to the suburb including sewer, water, and green spaces, and rehabilitated more than five hectares of ecologically significant land throughout the local area.

“Residents have welcomed the development with open arms and we look forward to seeing the community continue to grow and prosper with the construction of the childcare facility,” Mr Loney said.
