The Gold Coast Hindu Cultural Association (GCHCA) organised Navratri celebrations at Broadbeach Cultural Centre, recently. The event honours the divine feminine energy of Goddess Durga. This sacred festival not only brings joy and devotion but also reminds us of the deeper values of women's empowerment and gender equality. Navratri is a call to action, reminding us to uplift, respect, and empower women, fostering a more equitable and just society. President of GCHCA Dr. Shunil Sharma reminded the audience of the challenges everyone faces, particularly the issue of domestic violence. He called upon the community to work towards positive change, fostering a safer and more supportive environment for all. The event also saw dance performances from Lalitha Kalalaya Bharatanatyam, Nadananjali Dance, and Vinitha Rajkumar's Rhythm India School of Dance and others.
