Hindi Diwas celebrations highlight cultural heritage in Perth

The Hindi Samaj of Western Australia (HSWA) led vibrant Hindi Diwas celebrations, showcasing the importance of Hindi language and culture within the local Indian community, recently. Students and voluntary teachers from Paathshala, Western Australia's Hindi Language School, performed "Hindi Mera Abhimaan" and presented a skit on language unification, while young scholars recited Hindi poems, including "Samay Ka Mehatv."

A highlight of the event was the skit "Desi Parents, Videshi Bachhe," written by Abhishek Mishra and performed by Uttar Pradesh Awadh Manch WA, which emphasized the importance of teaching the mother tongue to children born abroad to preserve their cultural roots. The Kalam Dawat group of writers and poets also contributed with scholarly presentations, and Rita Kaushal introduced her latest book, Samritiyan.

Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi commended the Hindi Samaj for its remarkable efforts in promoting the Hindi language across Western Australia through community language schools and mainstream education.
