Indian diaspora plants 1000 saplings in Perth

In a remarkable show of environmental stewardship, the Indian diaspora community in Perth planted over 1,000 herbal plants and tree saplings along the Canning River near Burslem Bridge, Thornlie, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, recently. This initiative, held in partnership with the Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group, aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental conservation under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam drive.

Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi, alongside community members and enthusiastic children, actively participated in the plantation drive, contributing to the green efforts. Numerous community associations lent their support, including the Marathi Association Perth, Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand, Champs of WA, Brahma Kumaris Perth, Isha Foundation, SAVE SOIL, Hindu Council of Australia Perth, Samskruthi Perth, Hindi Samaj HSWA, and Sikh Association of WA.

The event was a significant achievement in fostering community spirit and environmental awareness among the Indian diaspora in Western Australia.
