Australian business leaders and AIBC discuss ‘Make in India’ Initiative

Australian business leaders, along with representatives of the local chapter of the Australia India Business Council (AIBC), convened for a strategic roundtable discussion focused on the 'Make in India' initiative.




Facilitated by the Consulate, the event provided a platform for insightful dialogue and collaboration aimed at exploring opportunities within India's burgeoning manufacturing sector.



Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi spearheaded the discussion by briefing participants on India's remarkable growth story and various initiatives, including Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, designed to bolster and incentivize manufacturing in the country. His informative presentation highlighted the potential for Australian businesses to tap into India's dynamic market and contribute to its economic expansion.


Local businesspersons in attendance seized the opportunity to share their experiences and collaborations with Indian companies, offering firsthand insights into the challenges and opportunities present in the Indian market. Through engaging discussions and knowledge sharing, participants explored avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and investment between Australia and India, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
