Memorable night in Brisbane: ‘Gata Rahen Mera Dil’ raises funds for Shiva temple

Brisbane's QLD Russian Cultural Center was alive with the sound of music on June 1 as the community came together for "Remembering Kishore Da 'Gata Rahen Mera Dil'."


This vibrant event, organized by Tanvi Goel of AusIndia Travel and singer Chandan Das, aimed to raise funds for the establishment of the Shiva temple at Park Ridge. The night featured a host of talented local artists, including Ishaan Sarkar, Sharad More, Wilson Allu, Eswar Jagdesh, Paramjit Namdhari, Subrato Chakravarty, Ekta Arora, Anuja Paralikar, Anvi Vaidya, Yousuf Ali Khan, and Saleem Zaman. Special performances by the Tapori Squad and Nihasvi Tanvi Jain, who portrayed Lord Shiva, captivated the audience.


Generous support from sponsors such as Narada Sharma (My Narada), Hemant Dua (Nexus Migration Services), Yogi Sharma (RayWhite), Niket Kataria (Reality), Usha Chandra (Globenet Realty), Krunal Acharya (Loaney Loans), Ashwin and Dorris Sharma (Cisozen), and Ashutosh Misra (India News) made the event possible. Raffle sponsors, including AusIndia Travel, Madhuri Jogia (Rhia Jewellers), Sonali Bansal and Jyotika Raniga (Trendy India), and Beauty Das (You and Me Fashion) added to the festive atmosphere with delightful prizes.

The SKED team, comprising Geetha Grandhi, Raj Grandhi, Naga Kasinadhuni, Yuvan Grandhi, Narasimha Setra, Padma Setra, and Chinni, received acknowledgements for their dedication. The event was smoothly coordinated by MCs Anu Sharma, Zain Chams, Khushbu Kaushik, and Ekta Arora, with the assistance of volunteers Pragya, Arna, Aryana Sharma, and Sukhbir Chadha. The venue was beautifully decorated by Navi from Shimmer N Shine Decors, and Siddhartha skillfully captured the evening with his photography. Tanvi Goel, a prominent community leader and founder of the AusIndia Business Network and Uttar Pradesh Associations of Australia-QLD, along with Chandan Das, whose voice is often likened to the legendary Kishore Kumar, were pivotal in making the night a success. The event was marked by mesmerizing songs, delectable food, and engaging raffle prizes, resulting in a memorable and entertaining night for all attendees.
