BRIMM hosts first outdoor Ganesh Festival at Roma St Parklands

Brisbane Maharashtra Mandal (BRIMM) celebrated its first-ever outdoor Lord Ganesh Festival on September 14 at Roma St Parklands, attracting over 1,000 attendees from the community. The event featured over 20 stage performances, with more than 100 local participants showcasing their talents in dance, music, and cultural presentations.
The celebration began with a vibrant Maharashtrian Dhol Tasha parade welcoming Lord Ganesh. Sri Shashikant Kulkarni Guruji led the Ganesh Pooja, which was performed by Nikita and Shantanu Pawar.
The outdoor event highlighted BRIMM’s dedication to promoting Maharashtrian culture, with BRIMM vice president Asha Joshi expressing gratitude to all contributors.
The stage show was seamlessly managed by Masters of Ceremony Sid Nagpurkar, Tejas Mokal, Chinmayee Dabholkar, Rohit Vombathkere, Gauri Samant, and Aditi Sawant. BRIMM Secretary Aditya Deole encouraged community support for professional development initiatives aimed at the younger generation.
Volunteers were recognized as VIP guests, with BRIMM sponsors Jyoti Verghese, Sonia Singh, Umang Rajani, and committee members Asha Joshi and Renuka Bhoge presenting them with special awards. In a touching tribute, Rohit Vombathkere honored Apali Marathi Shala students for their dedication to learning the Marathi language.
Cultural performances showcased the rich heritage of India, featuring acts by Noopur Dance Studio, Rhythms, Bollyfit, ZuZu Dance Academy, Infinity Kathak, and others. The festival theme, "BRIMM, where we all long to belong," was echoed in BRIMM president Ganesh Deshpande’s speech, emphasizing the importance of connection, collaboration, and taking bold steps for future growth within the multicultural community.
