BRIMM hosts annual community picnic in Mansfield

BRIMM is also thankful to Brisbane City Council and Cr. Ryan Murphy for their support in successfully executing the BRIMM Picnic.

Brisbane Maharashtra Mandal Inc (BRIMM) successfully hosted their annual community picnic on 16 July 2023 at Broadwater Park, Mansfield.

BRIMM’s picnic is a fun-filled community event to come together and enjoy a day outdoors in a park with family and friends. An opportunity for the community to come together and know each other, playing games such as cricket, lemon-spoon race, tug of war etc.

Trident Cricket Club members came together to host Cricket session and all age groups enjoyed playing the game together.

Renuka Bhoge organised artwork session which was completely enjoyed by the kids. Renuka also showcased some of her traditional artwork, paintings to increase awareness.

Swati Lavekar conducted an informative session for seniors about falls prevention and general mobility. It was greatly appreciated by the attendees.

Along with above sessions, participants enjoyed tug of war, lemon-spoon race, and antakshari. We had an increased participation by the students, and it was great to see lot of them came forward for volunteering activities.

BRIMM this year is celebrating 18 years of community services. Bina Adhikari and Jitendra Vombathkere were invite to express her opinions about BRIMM’s journey.

BRIMM President Ganesh Deshpande provided an overview of this year’s programs, introduction of cultural partners for the upcoming Ganesh festival, and brief overview of BRIMM activities in the recent time. He also urged the community to support international students for accommodation & jobs hunt. Delicious food by Mahendra’s Indian cuisine was a treat for everyone. Tongue teasing wada pav and paav bhaji was enjoyed by everyone.
