Perth celebrates diaspora women’s contribution to India-WA ties

The Consulate and the WA Chapter of Australia India Business Council (AIBC) came together to honor the pivotal role of diaspora women in enhancing trade and investment, education, skilling, and innovation ties between India and Western Australia. The celebration, held in collaboration with Dr. Jags MLA and Cr Raj Doshi of the City of Perth, highlighted the significant contributions of women entrepreneurs within the community.

An all-women panel, comprising distinguished professionals, engaged in discussions regarding the challenges and opportunities for community entrepreneurs in strengthening this vital relationship. Moderated by VP of AIBC-WA Paritosh Mishra, the panel discussion was followed by a Q&A session, providing attendees with valuable insights and perspectives.

Dr. Parwinder Kaur, another Committee Member of AIBCWA, delivered a vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of mentoring fellow community women and promoting diversity and inclusion. The event was further enriched by a captivating cultural presentation by Deepti Shukla and the Jhankar Group. In commemoration of the International Day of Women, the Consulate honored diaspora women entrepreneurs for their remarkable contributions across various sectors. Among those felicitated were Rohini Modgill, Founder & CEO of Keystone College of Business & Technology - RTO Code 41183; Mansi Zaveri, Founder & Head of Sustainability Services at Circular Fibres; Premila Jina, Strategic Transformation Advisory; Dr. Sadhana Bose, Senior Project Officer at the South Metropolitan Health Service; and Asha Bhat OAM, CEO of Southern Aboriginal Corporation. These women were recognized for their significant impact on indigenous communities, empowerment through education, sustainability, digital innovation, and community health and wellbeing. The discussions emphasized the importance of fostering women's empowerment, cultivating mentorship opportunities, and nurturing role models and community champions.
