Consul General Dr Sushil Kumar explores bilateral ties during visit to City of Greater Bendigo

In a bid to bolster bilateral relations, Consul General Dr Sushil Kumar embarked on a visit to the City of Greater Bendigo, following an invitation extended by Cr Andrea Metcalf. The visit, characterized by fruitful discussions and immersive engagements, aimed at enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, education, health, technology, trade, and tourism.




Dr Sushil Kumar's itinerary included a networking luncheon attended by distinguished personalities, including Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan, Speaker of Victorian Parliament Maree Edwards MP, and leaders from the local business community.


The luncheon provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration, laying the groundwork for future partnerships.



During his visit, the Consul General seized the opportunity to explore prominent institutions and landmarks within the city. Visits to La Trobe University, Bendigo Tramways, Bendigo Art Gallery, and Australian Turntables Company offered insights into the city's cultural, educational, and industrial landscape.
Highlighting the importance of cultural exchange, Dr Sushil Kumar engaged with the vibrant Indian community during a reception organized by the Indian Association of Bendigo Inc. The interaction fostered closer ties between the Consulate and the Indian diaspora, reaffirming the bond between the two nations. Expressing optimism about the outcomes of the visit, Dr Sushil Kumar emphasized the mutual benefits of strengthened bilateral cooperation. Cr Andrea Metcalf lauded the visit as a significant step towards deepening ties between the City of Greater Bendigo and India.
