Hindu Council Australia celebrates IDY at Federal Parliament

The Hindu Council Australia, supported by the High Commission of India in Canberra, organized a yoga session on the lawns of the Federal Parliament on June 21 to celebrate the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY).


Yoga experts conducted an invigorating session of asanas and breathing exercises, attended by numerous yoga enthusiasts.

A similar session was held on June 23 at the Hindu Temple in Florey, Canberra. Both events drew participants from diverse communities, who gathered to practice yoga asanas and breathing techniques.
Yoga, an ancient practice that promotes physical, mental, and spiritual health, is celebrated globally on June 21 following its recognition by the United Nations in 2014. These events highlighted the importance of yoga in fostering holistic wellbeing and community unity.
