he new year began with a great discovery: art dreamers. Having always dreamt of being an artist, drawing on a daily basis, I joined art dreamers and there I met some of the coolest people ever. Art Dreamers is a Facebook group home to approximately 175,000 members and most of them are artists or art enthusiasts like me. The group is maintained by Veri Apriyatno, an Indonesian visual artist. Although I sought his involvement for this issue, I believe that he may have been too busy; however, the fanpage was the start of something unique for IndieJudge. Connecting with these artists, I got an impression that an art competition was necessary, to situate themselves against one another was not really the goal, but it has always been to bring them together into one volume. Having solicited about 80 artists in my call for submissions, I managed to get 35 highly adept and ingeniously talented young artists each with their own style, technique, and purpose. Although this is a competition, none of these artists have lost. The opportunity for them to be in this issue, to be distributed and to declare themselves as published is already a great boost for their art careers. In addition, I designed this as a way for artists to connect with each other, to collaborate and to envision future prospects together. Take your time to browse, to see what talent there is around the world. There’s something beautiful in each of them, their expression is so clear and their personality can almost be read from their amazing art pieces. Thank you for looking ahead! Sincerely,
Sufi Mohamed Editor-in-Chief of IndieJudge.com 3

We use high quality equipment and a clean room (lab) to process the e-liquids, and have our products tested at a third party lab for contaminants and ingredient levels. We know how important it is and so we take great pride and care to ensure that the quality of the juices and the nicotine we use are made in sanitary labs. At Vapor Jedi, we have available both an online store and a brick & mortar storefront in Saskatchewan. We have over 100 flavors of e-liquid in several different strength options for nicotine, as well as e-liquid with no nicotine, and hundreds of products, including starter kits for those who want to try something different! We have all kinds of flavors and interesting names for them too! Check us out if you’ve ever been interested in these types of products! Best of luck to all competitors, you’re all great artists!!
hen Sufi told me about the competition, I knew it was something I wanted to get myself involved in. The competition is pretty rigorous and I know there’s more to it than meets the eye. When he told me that he’d be needing a sponsor, I said, “Yes! Let’s make it happen!”. It’s been a few years now that I’ve known him and he’s always come up with something really far-fetched, but this one definitely hit it home for me. Everyone has their own talents and some of these artists are beyond supernaturally talented. When he showed me samples of what they’re capable of, I knew that there was something that needed to be done, a competition was quickly underway. The idea is pretty simple, people vote for you, but in a neutral way so that there is balance among the competitors. While it’s great that some artists have a lot more connections than others, it shouldn’t be the deciding factor in ensuring that you are the victor, because you can only be a victor of one category and not be named the victor of all. If you want to know a little about me, I’m the owner of Vapor Jedi Industries, an e-cigarette retailer and e-liquid manufacturer from Saskatchewan, a province in Canada. Some E-cigarettes look similar in appearance to traditional cigarettes, and others are quite different, and they work much differently than a traditional “analogue” cigarette or tobacco product. When people are using e-cigs, a heating mechanism triggers and warms up the e-liquid inside which may or may not contain nicotine, which the user then inhales and exhales, so there isn’t the bad smell or dangerous tar and carcinogens that comes with smoking traditional cigarettes.
Sincerely, Mitch Tarala CEO of VaporJedi.com

ALEXANDER FJELNSETH
I chose to draw Morgan Freeman due to the fact that he has legendary status in the film industry. I feel that I had to draw him mainly because of his successes as an actor but also as a role-model to young aspiring actors! When referring to drawing reasons, he has a very detailed and recognisable face. Because of this, I felt that he was an actor that would be suitable to my style of drawing.
I absolutely loved The Dark Knight Rises and I’ve actually seen it twelve times by now, four of which were in cinemas. Every time I see it, it feels just as epic as the last time, and I am in awe of the masterpieces Christopher Nolan and his team created in their Batman trilogy. That’s why I decided to do a series of drawings of all the antagonists featured in the movies, and this one of Bane was my second one, after Catwoman. It was also my second coloured pencil drawing, done in March 2013 and I actually reworked it six months after originally finishing it, since I wasn’t happy with the quality of it. Finally, I’d like to mention that I loved how Tom Hardy portrayed the role of Bane, and how much emotion he managed to convey using just his eyes. Truly remarkable!
CLEOFE Pacaña I chose The Wolverine because I am a big big fan of the marvel character Wolverine. Wolverine is my all time favorite marvel character since I was a child because he has this healing power, the adamantium claws and he’s immortal. I used to draw wolverine on the back of my notebook, as well as the other other marvel characters, but most of the time it was Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is also one of my favorite actors. I’ve been a big fan of his work since the first X-Men film. My favorite marvel character and my favorite actor, Wolverine and Hugh Jackman.
BRIAN TAVARES All I can say is that Angelina Jolie has dedicated herself to achieving high calibre acting in genres like action and adventure. She always has a way of making the most out of her characters (i.e. Tomb Raider). She has an irresistible beauty that makes her stand out so clear, as a subject of artistic fascination. It was a great challenge for me and am quite satisfied with the result!

Dredd has always been one of my favorite comic book characters. In the movie Dredd, he really came alive on the big screen. As I drew this, I hoped that a sequel would be in the making! I wanted my drawing to show Dredd much like in the film, but with more of a comic book style. I decided to use more saturated colors to get the cartoon feeling. I have also chosen to keep the blood from the head white so not to make it too gory. I also wanted Dredd standing like the Statue of Liberty with the Book of Law in one hand and his gun on the other, perched high above his head after the sequence.
Katniss Everdeen, the main character of The Hunger Games, gives that flare and boost to the film! I decided to draw her, not only because she is stunning, but also for her aura that is quite powerful and interesting. My drawing is a picture of her in the Victory Tour and I put that kind of light to emphasize her as the “Girl on Fire” and to reveal a “hope” in it as well. I used colored pencils to bring life to the details so that it may look real and vibrant. The sole reason why I drew it is because it changed my life, I understood what life really is and how it means to us, and also, to stand up and fight for what you believe. Yes, it is thrilling to watch, but it also gives that kick to your mind and heart that gets you motivated.
CHARLES RAMOS Known for his characters in action films, particularly the saga Hard to kill, and movies like The Twelve Monkeys, Look who’s talking, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, Armagedonn, The Jackal, among others! In addition to being a great actor in films, he’s also a manager and producer. I decided to draw Bruce Willis, to participate in this competition, because I have a great admiration for his films, and the great actor that he is! Bruce is too much trouble!
Corina Olosutean Why Rapunzel? Because she makes me smile every time I look at her. I believe that in a world full of stress and overwhelming responsibilities, we need to smile more than anything. And we should learn from Rapunzel about how to take a break and enjoy the simple, apparently insignificant things around us. One other reason I chose Rapunzel is her personality, from which we also have to learn that one does not wait for things to happen, but makes them happen!
ARAVIND SREEKUMAR I would like to participate with the Joker from The Dark Knight, a movie Christopher Nolan dedicated to the memory of Heath Ledger. 6

FRANK EYESON
Captain America is one of my favorite superheroes. Steve Rogers, to me, is the moral anchor in the Marvel Universe. He is a superhero who is feared by enemies, respected by major superheroes (Iron Man, Hulk) and also honored by junior superheroes (Spider-Man and The Punisher). I really love to draw fictional characters, especially superheroes. I liked the story of movie the Avengers, Captain America. I also like Iron Man and Thor.
One of the reasons I chose Transformers was because it used to be and still is a classic television series. It’s one of those series I watched as a child and many in my generation are very familiar with. It’s also widely known around the world by many. It’s not only widely known by children of this day, age, and generation, but it’s also widely recognized by adults too. They are basically a household name like Superman and Batman. Another reason why I chose to submit Transformers (Optimus Prime) is because they represent all things that stand for truth and justice.
Eleni Bonou I chose Pitch Black because it’s possibly the best science fiction movie of the 21st century. The movie delivers an astounding sci-fi horror story that chronicles the events surrounding survivors of a space transport crash on a different planet. And I think that each character flourishes in their well-defined personality (specially Riddick as a bad-ass convict), their movements and behavior. The way they clash and the manner in which the story is told is brilliant. I believe this is easily one of the greatest sci-fi movies in the last fifty years.
Even though Optimus Prime is not a human being and is a full living breathing machine, he is able to show empathy towards human beings, whom he dwells amongst, which is quiet rare because most machines don’t have feelings. Optimus Prime is the prime example of what a good guy is. He is strong, resilient, empathetic, a leader, highly intelligent, and refuses to lose even in the face of his own defeat by his ememies.
Alzbeta Pavčová I am participating with Aslan, deeply inspired by The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. This film was very enchanting, very colorful and beautiful and I wanted to do the same for Aslan. I love color! 7
FRANCESCO MAURO
Lucille Boyles
I chose to draw Whitney Houston, a vivid, vibrant, beautiful and elegant woman who, despite all her experiences and vocal abilities, has always been a tremendous actor and a great person. May she rest in peace.
I chose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 because this was the most epic movie I’ve ever seen. It made me smile, cry and I realized many things. Harry, Ron and Hermione never left each other on their journey in destroying Voldemort’s horcruxes. This is what true friends are.
KEVIN SERAD ZEUS is a God of the sky, lightning, thunder, law, order, and justice. I absolutely loved Wrath of Titans! I hope you like my drawing, it took much time and was a very delicate strenuous procedure for me!
Neville showed bravery despite of seeing Harry’s ‘dead’ body and still continued to fight against Voldemort. Snape: My whole wizarding world turned upside down and left me dumbstruck on the part when Harry looked into Snape’s memory and found out that he was protecting Harry all along. He may have been a deatheater before, but he turned against them because of love. He is the bravest man in the movie, even though he was in Slytherin House--your house doesn’t define who you are.
Manny Vailoces Meg Ryan, a gorgeous, talented, and respectable actress who in her classic days, from Sleepless in Seatle, grew my inspiration. I hope you enjoy my drawing!
Mikael Léry I always wanted to draw a portrait of Scarlette Johansson. I think she’s one of most beautiful actress of this generation (like Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepbrun before). I’ve held the the original picture of this drawing 3 years ago, but never thought that I would be capable of drawing it. I started with an easier one first and I finally ddecided to draw this one (3 years after). I spent more than 20 hours on it (because of the hair and jewelry).
Harry conquered Voldemort because Voldemort didn’t and will never understand what love is. He only believes in power.. Harry sacrificed himself to Voldemort for the people he loves. It proves that the greatest thing in this world is love and not power. I will always the love Harry Potter Series.

ARTISTS REFLECT Nannapat Trirattrakul Nicoflor Sahagun When I watched the film “Oliver”, the musical version played by Mark Lester, I was impressed. “Oliver Twist” is the second novel written by a famous English author “Charles Dickens”.
I chose to draw this piece because it will educate many of us who can relate especially the “teenager’s” who suffer early pregnancy. This story is about a girl, pregnant homeless teenager (Vanessa Hudgens) who is forced to run away from her abusive mother and is turned away by her rich father before she ends up staying in a suburban shelter for homeless teens, where she finds her true family. We will learn the value of respect, responsibility, how to value a family, and to nurture a God’s gift.
The story is about an orphan in a workhouse. When he asked for more food to eat, he was punished and sold to work with an undertaker. He escapes and travels to London where he meets with a gang of juvenile pickpockets. The story exposes the cruelty of the treatment in orphan home and calls the public attention to contemporary evils, including child labor, recruitment of children as criminal and presence of street children. Though the story “Oliver” was written to reflect the life of the poor children 187 years ago, today we still witness the same miserable children on the streets of any glorious cities.
This is an insight on how to handle a full responsibility of a parent and a child who are not in a good relationship, and maybe after watching this you’ll realize a piece of you is not fully complete.
Victor del Campo
The character “Oliver” reflects the cry of poor children all over the world. His thin body and his frighten eyes tell us the same sad story. Most of them there is no happy ending like in the movie, but it remind us to do something to help them, whenever we can.
I drew Spiderman, one of the finest characters in Marvel comics ever! He’s the embodiment of justice, sacrifice, In the Amazing Spiderman, all of Peter Parker’s character is put to the test and we learn the true meaning of his sacrifice.

Paris Vasiliadis
Scott Williams
I’ve always wanted to draw the predator, for it speaks of a viciousness akin to the brutal Alien. It is an advancement of the primitive human, balanced by virtues such as honor and, sometimes, respect and fair game.
I chose Thorin Oakenshield from the film The Hobbit; The Desolation of Smaug because it is an amazing, action-packed film with a variety of types of characters in it. Thorin is a strong character in the film, taking control of the group, showing that he is a true leader and someone you could aspire to be. Thorin is a serious character and is always fully focused on the objective. He realises the need to appreciate the important things in life, such as happiness and friendship, rather than money: “If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
DONNY WILLIS Pacific Rim is one of the most actionpacked films of this decade! As a sciencefiction fan, Pacific Rim feels like an experiment in approaching both the genre and the special effects needed to conquer the filming process. I drew a dramatic sequence because I believe it’s the best way to experience the grand, deep textures of the film. I hope you enjoy my drawing!
ROMAN BRUIN Here is a cool drawing of Neo from The Matrix. I’ve drawn it as a 3d drawing. I made a balck and white photograph, because this works better with this style of drawing. This way the real and the drawn merges together and makes the drawing come alive.
Sanghoon Lee In Apocalypto, Jaguar Paw faces insurmountable odds, a warrior dedicated to the preservation of his culture and people. He’s a vibrant, energetic, powerful character who moves both stealthily, intelligently, and adapts well to any circumstance. Despite all that was happening around him, one thing that struck me the most was the calmness in his face.
I chose The Matrix (part 1) because to me it’s one of the best films ever made. I love the idea of everything being fake and controlled by computers. In my artwork everything is fake too, but it looks alive. I can kind of relate to that movie. Also the fighning scenes and special effect are absolutly brilliant! All in all a great movie!

Kruger is an interesting character, both malevolent and malicious. His determination knows no limits and his aggressiveness is a certain match. He’s a powerful character and really shows his furiousness so well. I hope you enjoy my drawing of Kruger, Elysium was a really cool movie!
Superman is a powerful, memorable character that has survived time and time again. I am attempting to subject Superman to this unending history, to remind ourselves that Superman is a staple figure in our culture and society. My goal is to show you his history and how much time has passed leading to The Man of Steel.
WILL LIMA
The Man of Steel is a depiction of the struggle of immigrants trying to survive, in a foreign country that does not welcome them, but the immigrant is the one to change everything, to provide something new, something that didn’t exist before. While the present is always in search of the past, to make meaning, as Superman does, the past is always filled with memories that test our faith in the future. I hope you like my drawing!
Ironwoman, a character I conceptualized to give Ironman’s life more meaning. When I watched Ironman 3, I kept thinking how nice it would be if his wife were also like him. I know she pursues justice in the same way as Tony Stark. When she wore Stark’s suit, it occurred to me then that she needed her own. This is my expression, the Ironwoman.
Roland Benipayo
STEVEN LEE
I drew Batman, the Dark Knight, as a reminder of the darkness we all must conquer eventually. The film is both enchanting and very philosophical, offering us no chance of understanding the complexities of Gotham City. We learn from the sacrifice Batman must make, we also learn of the vengeance he’s capable of. I hope you like my drawing!
I chose to draw the beautiful Kim TaeYeon, a Korean singer and actress known for her cute, adorable and lovely presence both on-screen and off. I hope you enjoy my drawing!
