How To Assemble A Grow Tent Kit? Having agrow tent kit comes with so many advantages. You will be able to grow different types of crops in a controlled environment. From the look of things, one may assume that the process is complicated, which is not entirely the case. With proper guidance, you will realize that it is an easy process. There are a number of factors that will have to be considered for the plants to thrive. Some of the key factors that will make it possible for the plants to have a perfect environment include lighting, humidity, temperature and humidity levels. As theindoor growing tent kits have become so popular, I notice that there are a good number of people who would love to have them, but are inhibited by the lack of knowledge on how to assemble them. Assemble the Tool For this particular step, the items that are needed are: Flathead screwdriver Wire cutters Box cutter or scissors Tape measure This means that you will have to gather all the tools that are essential for assembly of the indoor plants growing tent. The grow tentcan be pretty hot and as such, you may also want to have your favorite drink for this process. Once you confirm that all these tools are in place, you are ready for the process. Grow Tent Kit Assembly Step one is assembling the grow tent with the easily included instructions which are also included in the description below. So now you have your grow tent setup and there are some hanging bars from the ceiling and I want to show these off. Two have a big hook and one has a small hook so what that means is the small hook one goes in first and then these two go in after it. First, put this bar in going the long ways and then put these two bars in going perpendicular. So I’m gonna go ahead and do that now. And the way I recommend doing this is putting one side in and then pushing it sideways and slipping it over that pole. So putting it in, pushing it back, and slipping it over. So now the way this is worked, you have this lattice on the roof and this bar is your heavy hanging bar and then you have two that can suspend a little bit less weight, but they’re pretty good.
Determine Ventilation Setup
So we’re gonna start off by putting your carbon filter, and our fan and ventilation setup to make sure there is no smell coming out of this tent. So as you get your carbon filter it’s gonna look like this, then it comes with a sock, so this sock you wanna end up putting over
the carbon filter. Here we have the sock on, now what the sock does is keep particulates from getting into the carbon and clogging it up. So you’ll probably wanna change this out every, about every twelve months, this sock and of course they are inexpensive usually just a few bucks. The next thing you’ll wanna get out is these almost like straps that come with the grow tent kit, there are four of them ok. Now what we are gonna use these for it to hang the carbon filter and the fan, so I’ve already pre-put these together and what I’m gonna do is slip them on one of these hanging bars. Cool. So now let’s throw the carbon filter inside of those, perfect. And now we have our inline fan. Now you’ll notice with this inline fan whichever way it’s tapered is the way the air flows. Ok, so what we wanna do is have air be sucked into the walls of the carbon filter and go into the fan, and then be connected to ducting that goes out, and that way all of the air exhausting from the tent will go first through the carbon filter eliminating it of any smell. Inline Fan strap hanger There’s a really convenient little section right here on the fan, I don’t know if you can see it, but you can slip a little strap like this underneath it. So this is the fan that we include with all of our tent kits and not all fans have this so this is the reason why we included it. So we strap it like that and we hang it. So what I’m gonna do is take this bar and measure it and I’ve already pre-measured these so I know that they are just about meeting each other. Now let me go get our tape so we can connect these together. So here is where our scissors come into play. With this size grow tent kit, I’m gonna connect the fan directly to the carbon filter but depending on where you wanna place these and what your tent size is you can also easily put some ducting in between. Since this one is relatively small and I can hang them at the same height no problem just taping them together. Ok, now let’s push that tape down, make sure we have an airtight seal, ok, that feels good now let’s grab our ducting. Now if you’ve seen our instruction guide you’ll notice that we said to get some wire cutters. The wire cutters are really helpful because when you have ducting if you can cut perpendicular to these I would say wires that give the ventilation its structure you can end up expanding the width to make it really easily fit over flanges so that’s what we did here, we cut it a little bit, just like that. Ok, and now we’re gonna fit it over the flange right here and tape it up. Now that said, we do include hose clamps in and in case you like those better and then you just need a flat head screwdriver, but personally, I’ve set up a lot of tents, I like tape so if you wanna be really safe you can tape it and then hose clamp it. Ok, so now here is your entire ventilation setup good to go. Here is the power cord and you’ll notice right in the back there is a small porthole which I recommend putting this power cord through.
Hang The Lighting System Using two hangers per light, hook the crossbar at the top of the tent with the hooks that are attached to the ratchet assemblies of the hangers.
Set the hooks attached to the rope end of the ratchets to equal lengths. Place a hook in each of the two hanger brackets on the lighting system. Run the light system power cord out of the nearest tent cord hole in the rear of the tent. You can now adjust the height of the light by simultaneously pulling the two ratchet hanger ropes. You can lower the lights by pressing the tab in the ratchet assembly of the hangers. Be sure to hold onto the ropes when lowering so you can control your descent.
Grow Light Setup Tips Adjusting the height of your lighting as the plants grow is essential. Different lighting types (LED grow light, MH/HPS grow light, CMH grow light, Fluorescent grow light), lighting wattage, and reflector types all have different recommendations regarding distance from your plant canopy. Be sure to check the recommendations for your light(s) to avoid bleaching or heat stress, while still giving your plants the light they need. Be careful when installing bulbs and plugging in ballasts and light sockets. Damage to your lighting can occur if mistakes are made. If in doubt, give us a call. Water and electronics don’t mix well. Avoid splashing water on your lighting equipment, including ballasts. New HID bulbs should be run for at least 12 hours on their first start-up to ensure maximum bulb life. When changing bulbs in HID lights, do not touch the glass with bare hands, oils from your hands can damage the bulb. Wear gloves to avoid this.
Install The Light/Fan Timer What good is a grow tent without automation? Your light/fan timer will help keep your grow lights and fans operating on set schedules. Plug the grow light system cord into one side of the timer. If you will be timing the fan as well, plug the fan power cord into the other side of the timer. Otherwise just plug it into a constant power source. Plug the timer into a 120V wall socket, extension cord or power strip. Follow the instructions included with the timer to set run times.
