World Asthm a Day 2nd May “You Can Control Your Asthma”
World Asthma Day celebration was first started in 1998 by the GINA(Global Initiative for Asthma) in order to increase the asthma awareness all around the world.It is celebrated on annual basis at 1st Tuesday of the May month with the theme “You Can Control Your Asthma�. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory respiratory condition in which a person's airways become inflamed, narrow and swell and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe. More than 300 miliion asthmatics in world which is more than population of Russia. India has 30 million asthmatics which is 10% of the global asthmatic population. World-wide, the economic costs associated with asthma are estimated to exceed those of TB and HIV/AIDS combined.
