Urban Crafts CONTEXT

Urban Crafts is a platform for young creative makers, that succeeded to evolve in an interactive network. Founded in 2010 by Trendwolves, Urban Crafts selects creative people that practice a craft in a contemporary manner with passion. These young makers are given support to learn profiling themselves in videos, photos, on events and in workshops. There has always been a balance between online communication and physical contact. We provide the opportunities to meet on networking events and cocreation projects. Next to the crafters there’s also a network of enthusiasts. People who are interested to follow the every move of the maker culture in Belgium. Each year one of the crafters out of the selection for that year can become the winner due to efforts made throughout the year in co-creation projects, social media networking, presentation for our judge, etc. The winner is announced at our annual Award show in December. This year we would need about 40 awards in a small version for all the crafters, but also 3 bigger ones for the best 3 crafters of 2015. ASSIGNMENT

The design assignment consists of an award object and an award goodie bag. Expect to learn more about brainstorm techniques, creativity tools, conceptualization, team work, hands-on trial & error. You'll have continuous feedback with the client in a real life project and coaching by teachers from international design schools (Howest University College, Dundee & Angus College).
