Belleville springs provide the only force that holds tools in the spindle while cutting, and they are often the first to wear out on a CNC Machining Center.

Drawbars can have over 140 Belleville springs in the stack. Just the slightest wear, or one broken spring will have a huge effect on clamping force, causing chatter, bad finishes, reduced cutter life, and scrapped parts.

Left unchecked, a tool may eventually pull out of th spindle during a cut and damage the spindle, cutter, arbor, and fixture.

Machines are never the same after a crash.

Problems with repeatability, bad finishes, and short cutter life can be frustrating and difficult to diagnose. Up in the spindle and out of sight, drawbars seldom get the attention they deserve. To check it requires a special tool designed just for that purpose. Previously these tools cost many thousands of dollars, but now you can check your spindle for a fraction of that cost.

The Clamprite Gage simulates a tool in the spindle, and checks the drawbar in less than a minute. It has no batteries, clumsy cables, or delicate electronics to burn out. The pressure gauge reads directly in pounds/force, so there are no conversions or calculations to perform.

Clamprite Gage Kits provide the most economical method of checking the drawbar force of your machine. Kits are furnished in a foam fitted metal tool box and includes the gage head, a spindle adapter, and an internal transfer screw coupling (not shown) that accepts all pull studs.

The universal gage head accepts all sizes and types of spindle adapters, incl. CAT, BT, ISO, HSK, CAPTO, and others. Select your kit by spindle type and maximum drawbar force you will be testing. Additional adapters sold separately.

Long range viewing is enhanced with a larger 1.5 inch (38 mm) ultra-bright LED digital display and resolution settings of up to 10,000 divisions for precise 0.1% loading accuracy over a broad capacity range from 250 to 15,000 lb. Product operating time is extended to over 80 plus hours with a single 6-volt rechargeable battery.

The original signature Challenger packaging has been upgraded to NEMA 4 / IP65 levels. Manufactured in the USA in strict compliance with the highest safety standards, Challenger continues to sustain minimum 200% safe and 500% ultimate overload ratings.

A ScaleCore electronics retrofit kit is available for upgrading existing MSI-3260 or MSI-3360 Challengers to new generation MSI-3460.
