October is National Popcorn Poppin’ Month! According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, approximately 45% of the nation's popcorn is grown in Nebraska, followed by Indiana (19%), Illinois (12%) and Ohio (11%).

During the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience
Camp, compete and experience dozens of outdoor activities on October 1 and 2 during the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience, happening at Eastwood MetroPark in Dayton. Presented by Huffy and produced by Five Rivers MetroParks, this two-day event connects the community to nature by celebrating the vibrant outdoor adventure lifestyle and culture that’s available in the Midwest. Enjoy food, music and camping, as well as a plethora of opportunities to get you on the water, bike, slackline, climbing wall and more. This is a great event to try out an activity for the first time or sign up for a competition. There is something for everyone … even the dog! Dinosaurs have never been cooler! Uncover never-beforeseen dinosaur fossils buried beneath snow and ice in one of the most isolated environments on Earth during Dinosaurs of Antarctica: The Exhibition at Cincinnati Museum Center.
Travel back 200 million years to ancient Antarctica, a land of lush woodland, teeming with prehistoric beasts. Discover fossils from four Antarctic dinosaur species, including the fierce 25-foot long Cryolophosaurus, and take discovery into your own hands as you use real tools to learn how paleontologists carefully extracted fossils from the now frozen landscape.
