Summer is finally here and it's time to set off and explore some amazing spots around Indiana.

Whether you have just a day or a full weekend to get away we have some great ideas to add a little bit of adventure to your summer.

FAIR OAKS FARMS

Location: 856 N 600 E, Fair Oaks

An easy drive up I-65 from Indy, Fair Oaks Farms is an active dairy farm with doors open to guests. Start at the Welcome Center and take either the Dairy or Pig Adventure – both are a 3-hour experience through the facilities at Fair Oaks dedicated to sustainable farming. Enjoy the Cowfe, Cheese Factory and more.

FORT WAYNE CHILDREN’S ZOO

Location: 3411 Sherman Blvd, Fort Wayne

The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo offers over 1,500 amazing animals alongside rides and activities in every part of the zoo. Tickle your toes in the treetops on the Sky Safari, cool off on an Australian log ride, come nose-to-nose with a lion, and spend a day they'll never forget! It's no wonder the zoo has been named "One of the Top Ten Zoos for Kids!"

PINE LAKE WATERPARK

Location: 4640 West State Rd 218,

Berne Looking to cool off from the summer heat but tired of the neighborhood pool? Hop in the car and head less than 100 miles north to Berne, Indiana, home of the Pine Lake Waterpark. The beautiful lake, sandy beach, and multiple fun attractions are sure to make this one of your family’s favorite summer destinations. The park features a splash pad, a log walk, numerous slides (including kiddie slides) and a tower to leap from into the lake. What’s even better is that a family of five can attend the park for less than $50.

MUNCIE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

Location: 515 S High St,

Muncie Whether it’s interacting with wildlife, digging for fossils or creating an artistic masterpiece, the educational opportunities for kids are endless at the Muncie Children’s Museum. Muncie, Indiana is home to Ball State University, and is located approximately 60 miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis, perfect for a day trip.

CONNER PRAIRIE

Location: 13400 Allisonville Rd,

FishersConner Prairie is a nationally acclaimed interactive history park located in Fishers. It combines history with science, technology, engineering and math and encourages visitors to explore Indiana’s natural and cultural heritage through hands-on, immerse and interactive experiences.

WHITEWATER VALLEY RAILROAD

Location: 455 Market St,

Connersville This 19-mile scenic railroad is part of an operating railroad museum. The railroad offers regularly scheduled excursions throughout the year. This summer Day Out With Thomas: Big Adventure Tour 2018 will return to Whitewater Valley Railroad June 15-17 & June 22-24.

BROWN COUNTY

Location: Southern Indiana

Brown County State Park showcases nearly 16,000 acres filled with trails, playgrounds and a saddle barn that offers trail and pony rides. While you’re there, be sure to take a stroll around downtown Nashville with its quaint shops, ice cream parlors and candy stores.

TURKEY RUN

Location: 8121 Park Rd,

Marshall On the long, hot days of Indiana's summers, there's no place better than Turkey Run. Enjoy a day of lunching, playing and relaxing at a picnic area, or cool off in their Olympic-size swimming pool.

MARENGO CAVE

Location: 400 E State Rd 64,

Marengo Marengo Cave offers easy walking tours that will amaze adults and children alike. The Dripstone Trail tour is 1 mile, lasting 60 minutes in duration. The Crystal Palace tour is 1/3 mile, lasting 40 minutes in duration. Both tours are guided and are offered year-round. Marengo Cave is part of the Indiana Cave Trail. If you have the day, plan on seeing two caves. If you have an entire weekend, it’s possible to visit all four. Register for a cave trail passport and earn a t-shirt when you do!

HOLIDAY WORLD & SPLASHIN' SAFARI
