Five fundamental axes cross and split the area, establishing since the first step, an organization of the space. These axes create a net of pathways that, as alleys and lanes, pass trough the buildings, meeting in an open square. The orientation and position of the axes were thought to relate to the surrounding streets and in a way to take advantage of the existing 19th century facade. The openings in this facade are used as entrances to the pathways, as spots of penetration in the new complex. The presented volumes are more fragmentary in the South side to let the natural light into the square in contrast with a more unitary building to the North.
