The narration has been conver ted into the main base of my work. The act of telling stories translated itself into sculptures, performances, drawings, books, textiles and many other forms of expression. My projects became a platform for raising awareness of environmental matters, to gather cultural notions and question the norms we follow to live our lifes. I believe that despite the society or culture we are inserted in we have the role and the means to create changes. The narration is just a tool to transmit knowledge throughout generations and to help building bridges towards new ways of thinking.

D escr ip t io n A set of elements that represent the notion of being out of place. A stone that doesn’t belong to it’s surrondings. A warp as invisible as light. A weft as rough as that choice. A collection of erratic embroideries. A book with the sum of steps that one makes when moving into a new place while trying to reach a sense of belonging.

Sca rs
2014
D escr ip t io n Some societies consider scars as something desirable and may even impose them deliberately. However, in the majority of the cultures they are often seen has something ugly or repulsive. In western civilization they may be even seen as a sign of shame. I see scars as a physical trace of a translated memory. They are nothing more than a collection of symbols of someone’s life stories. Once you transport them onto another body, they end up becoming a trigger for two strangers to bind to each other.

D escr ip t io n Contains the memory of the first moment I’ve learnt how to dance. In front of a little antenna tv synchronized on the classical music channel, my father would put my tiny feet on top of his feet. The repetition of the gestures and words 1,2,3, would make me float around the room. 1,2,3 steps of valse = 1,2,3 pairs of shoes Each pair of shoes has to be used simultaneously by 2 people. By placing the feet on top of each other, the shoe will give a hint of the position of the foot and its structure.

D escr ip t io n An ongoing research based on the Nomadic life. A personal file collection and categorization of different types of nomads: the homeless, the wanderer, the working nomad, the squatter and the RV nomad. An assemblage of 6 nomads I have met during the past year and with whom I have shared daily life moments. A storytelling act to raise awareness of the diversity of lifestyles, aiming to abandon stereotypes and pejorative connotations to Nomads.

“Some said perhaps my travelling was Running away; from home, from responsabilities. While instead I was just exploring my home Looking for the right responsabilities. Being a nomad doesn’t mean you have no home. Travel, and the world becomes your home.”
Nomad 6
“I am now in a room together with all my stuff, for the first time in the last four months. The presence of these bags feel heavy somehow. The more I moved them the less sense they make. Most of them are still unopened, piled up in one corner of the room. I am sitting on a matrass, with my old sheets, blankets and pillows that are with me again. It is alright – they are like any other. Their presence does not make feel any different.

D escr ip t io n A fashion research on what we individually put together in order to dress up, starting with the question “what do clothes mean to you?. The analysis of my own wardrobe leaded to the construction of a formula which describes the way I assemble my daily outfit: Basic + Basic + Pattern + Weather + Mood = Outfit The findings of the research leaded to the reconstruction of an existing vest. The final vest became reversible according to mood and weather changes.
