FARM BUREAU NEEDS YOU What Farm Bureau membership can do for you…
Mission Indiana Farm Bureau promotes agriculture through public education, member engagement, and by advocating for agricultural and rural needs.
Vision Indiana Farm Bureau will be a proactive organization providing opportunities for members to inuence positive outcomes in agriculture and their communities.
Indiana Farm Bureau defends your interests at the Statehouse and the nation’s capital. Our advocacy efforts include monitoring ag regulations and working for passage of policy priorities. Indiana Farm Bureau played an integral role in eliminating the state inheritance tax. This makes it easier to pass the family business to the next generation. “Just want to thank the staff at Farm Bureau for working to repeal Indiana inheritance tax, as my mother passed in January. It is quite top of mind for our family. I called my regional manager to confirm what I read in Hoosier Farmer and was stunned to learn it was retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013. This will save our family close to $200,000. Thank you so much.” - Sam Sparks, Henry County
WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP HELP ACCOMPLISH?
Grassroots Local boards govern Farm Bureaus in every county. County Farm Bureaus promote farms, work with elected officials and suggest policy. They partner with other groups to improve their communities.
Education Indiana Farm Bureau provides many learning opportunities. Staff and outside experts offer estate plan advice, drainage education, teacher workshops and more. Volunteers present Ag in the Classroom lessons to children on farming, nutrition and food safety. Many county Farm Bureaus offer scholarships.
Keeping members informed is one of our top priorities. The Hoosier Farmer newsletter arrives in farmers’ homes 14 times a year, covering public policy, news and activities. My Indiana Home magazine connects all members to their food, their farmers and a uniquely Hoosier lifestyle. E-newsletters offer subject-specific information. “I’m not just a dietitian – I’m someone who loves to eat, cook and bake. My goal is to blend and balance to create great-tasting recipes and dishes with nutritional benefits.” - Kim Galeaz, Registered Dietitian and My Indiana Home Eat IN Columnist
HOME & FARM “I used the $500 GM discount when I bought my new GMC truck earlier this year. My family has used it several times over the last few years, and we plan to continue using the program into the future. This is just an added bonus to membership with the Indiana Farm Bureau, a grassroots organization focused on its membership.” – C.J. Fleenor, Orange County
HEALTH “It was easy and quick to switch over [Medicare Supplement plans]…and the savings speak for themselves… we’re so happy this coverage from Members Health was available through the Farm Bureau.” – Pam Kobelt, Floyd County
TRAVEL & LEISURE “We use the benefit of the discount for Comfort Inns. We stay at any of the Choice Hotels group whenever they are available. We are Choice Privileges members — that makes the savings even more.” – Lynn & Kathy Johnson, Whitley County
FINANCE “We suffered roof damage. Our claim [with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance] was handled promptly and efficiently.” – Claude Fuhr, Johnson County
