Large rooms especially need to be laid out so that no area is wasted because buyers see more value in rooms they walk through. Does this mean the office in the master bedroom? No. This DOES mean however that in a family room there could be a media area, office area and even a separate reading or games area.

Like hailstorms, snowstorms can cause significant damage to your vehicle and your home. While you may not be able to stop a storm from damaging your property, you can usually help reduce the amount of damage it causes. Here’s a list of tips to help you stay safe before, during, and after a winter storm. BEFORE A WINTER STORM -Consider installing storm windows or covering the interior-facing side of windows with plastic film to keep cold air out. -Keep trees and shrubbery trimmed. Some shrubs and plants may benefit from being covered with burlap to prevent damage from snow and ice. Remove all tree branches that hang over your roof and walkways. Branches that get heavy from ice and snow can break off and fall. If you’re unable to reach these areas safely, con-

sider hiring a professional. -Keep your eaves troughs and downspouts clean of leaves and debris so snow and ice can’t collect in them. -In the event that a weather emergency requires you to stay at home for a few days, be prepared by creating an emergency preparedness plan and have a kit ready with flashlights, batteries, blankets, some non-perishable food, and bottles of water. -For your vehicle, schedule a winter maintenance inspection with your mechanic, and install winter tires and new wiper blades. Also be sure to create a winter safety kit and store in your trunk so you are ready if you are on the road when a winter storm strikes.
