IFFM: We noticed you have done fashion shows and host them over the years to raise money for charities, can you tell us about it?

DR. SHELLIE: I have always loved storytelling. I have found over the years working with many fashion designers and charitable organizations that fashion shows are a way of acting without having to learn lines or memorize lyrics. I love to tell the stories of the clothing through a movement on a runway. One of my favorite runway experiences was a few months ago when I got to wear an incredible black dress from Audrey Hepburn’s personal estate in the Pittsburgh Opera fashion show. It was made all the sweeter because 20 years prior, I was the fashion curator Richard Parsakian’s “Audrey Hepburn” in his show at the Andy Warhol Museum. So, to wear her actual gown in this show was full circle and amazing.
