Photomontage Report 1.0 Photomontage Methodology Photography The Photomontage photographs were taken with a 5D mark II Full frame sensor camera, with a lens of 24mm. At each location the camera was set up above the ground at various heights, depending on the terain, and leveled with a bubble level both on the tripod stand and the tripod head. The distance between the ground level and the centre of the lens was also measured. The date and time of the photograph was recorded, manualy , and the data tag on the image was checks also. The lighting conditions were also recorded for the lighting set up in the 3D model, to insure the accurate sun and lighting conditions were achieved. Survey Information The levels were taken on site with Landbase Surveys. All the levels were taken with GPS surveying equipment. Reference points were coordinated with the drawings supplied by the architect, and used to accurately set up the 3D cameras in the 3D model. Modelling The 3D Model was created to millimeter accuracy with the drawings provided by Mola Architects for the proposed Building, and Ait Urbanism for the Landscape Details. The provided site survey and the proposed site layout were overlayed and aligned to creat a base model file to include all relevant information. The base model was then used for the accurate modelling of the proposed development. The 3D buildings were modelled and referenced in to the base survey model. At each viewpoint location, a virtual camera was set up in the 3D software using the survey points. The control survey points were used to confirm the target positions and the field of view of the virtual camera. Photomontages The relevant materials, colours and finishes were applied to the 3D model according to the design teams specifications. Any material that had already been used used on site was photographed and used to match the exact colours required. Using the verified camera described previously, the 3D modelling and rendering software produces an image, known as a render with passes of the proposed buildings. Each render is combined with the corresponding photograph in Adobe photoshop, and overlayed for perfect accuracy. Hue and saturation are applied to match the exisitng buildings on site. Software used for the process: Audodesk: Autocad 2020, 3D Max 2020, Corona, Photoshop CC. Adobe: Photoshop, and Indesign.
