TGI Fridays is now open in Surfers and holy burger Batman, we’re tickled red, white and blue ya’ll! And let it be known that we’re not just talking about any TGI Fridays here, this is the Australasian flagship restaurant, so get ready for more fanfare than you can poke a full rack of ribs at.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock of late, you must’ve heard that the American hospitality icon threw an epic launch celebration and this venue now completes the revamped Paradise Centre beachfront dining precinct. The Centre is a place us 80s and 90s kids will forever hold close to our hearts, watching in awe the exciting new journey it has taken with an eye-catching $40 million redevelopment. This show-stopping makeover now includes a stunning beachfront dining precinct so impressive, it deserves a sand-ing ovation!

So call your burger buddy and wing man for a bit of bun, we mean fun... but actually bun too, guaranteed to delight the whole fam from your macaroni mad mini-me to your nacho nomming Nanna. Current mood: chip-per!

The Surfers Paradise venue is the American famous Bar and Grill’s third for Queensland and second on the Gold Coast (yes we still love the OG in Robina too). Did you know that TGI Friday’s is the actual founder of the iconic ‘happy hour’ (we’re not worthy!) and Loaded Potato Skins? Well now you do. With that in mind, who isn’t keen as mustard for happy hour on a Friday arv? Never a stupider question has been asked. Enjoy a beverage from the Classics, Fridays Favourites, Born in NYC, and Ultimate Cocktails ranges, or the super spesh limited-edition cocktail launched exclusively at TGI Fridays Surfers Paradise #RubberArmTwisted. The aptly named Surf’s Up is a refreshing spritz made with Malibu, pineapple juice, Prosecco and a pineapple garnish and if we were an ocean side cocktail, this would be it.

Grab a starter to share, our go to are always the spicy Jalapeno Popper Signature Loaded

Potato Skins with melted Mexican style cheese, queso cheese sauce, crispy bacon, fresh sliced jalapeno, cheesy panko crumb with sour cream and spring onion. Don’t come with us, because we don’t share. Now if you’re into Wings, the seven flavours to choose from and options of 6, 12 or 18 wings will have your head in a spin, we can’t go past the Spicy Buffalo with celery sticks and a side of Bleu cheese dressing, again, sharing is optional. But you can be one of the first to try the Signature Whiskey Glaze Single Stack Burger. This grass-fed beef patty basted with signature Jack Daniel’s glaze, topped with melted American-style cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and roasted garlic aioli is a taste sensation, and the one bun for us. TGI’s of course uses quality local produce and all menu items are prepared daily and cooked to order, so now you know why it always tastes so good! Pair your meal with some innovative cocktails overlooking the big blue and LBH, they had us at whisky glaze.

Shut up and take our empty tummies already.

The Friday’s famous all-day dining menu is available from 10.30am until late seven days a week. We’re talking finger lickin’ classics like signature wings, juicy burgers, shoe-string fries, wraps, nourishing bowls, salads, fresh-mex meals, mouthwatering steaks, and slow-cooked, flame-grilled ribs with your choice of glaze.

Oh and bonus, kids eat free Monday to Thursday* so mum and dad, that’s your cue to take a night off from kitchen duty and enjoy the perfect family ‘ketchup’.

Bookings are encouraged. Words by Bianca Trathen
