Anti-Wrinkle What can Dr Judy do this Spring for my wrinkles: She can make you look fresh! Anti-wrinkle injections are the most common procedure used in cosmetics. Why? Because it works! The treatment is a simple non-surgical procedure. Treatment takes about 10 minutes and the effects can last from 2 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; 6 months. The full effects will be seen in about 1-3 weeks. Dr Judy Craig injects small amounts of a product using a very fine needle into the specific facial muscles. A treatment with an injectable muscle relaxant does not add any volume and therefore a deeper line or fold will still be visible. Muscle relaxants are formed from a substance called botulinum type A toxin, which is injected into the skin to relax the muscles. Beauty, Snow White, the Evil Queen, Cinderella and of course her Ugly Stepmother and step sisters, Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom played host to 800 guests at this year’s highly anticipated sold-out event! Indeed, the 10th Anniversary Boobalicious Ball brought together Perth’s most stylish for a glamorous night of decadent entertainment, delicious cuisine and determined fund raising proudly hosted by adultshop.com in support of Breast Cancer Care WA. One of Perth’s hardest working charities, Breast Cancer Care WA receives no recurrent government funding, relying solely on the kindness of the Western Australian community to fund the provision of emotional, practical and financial support services to their clients. On entering the foyer, excited guests were invited to strike a pose before a stylish media wall showcasing the support of our major sponsors, with Kelvin Chong and his team capturing all the glitz and glamour of their red carpet arrival. As always, Perth’s King of Oysters Jerry Fraser took centre stage, gregariously plying his trade alongside an extremely popular Johnnie Walker bar inviting guests to take a tipple of their distinctive Double Black. Guests also enjoyed the Kolsch sensation of 4 Pines Beer and the elegant Resplendent Sparkling Rose, Forbidden Fruit Cider, Divine Light Sauvignon Blanc, Shakre Chardonnay, Snake Charmer Shiraz and Voodoo Moon Malbec care of Margaret River’s Vinaceous Wines. All complemented with a mouth-watering three course meal specially prepared by the Crown Perth’s Executive Chef and his team.

Hosted by Perth’s popular news presenter, Network Ten’s beautiful Narelda Jacobs, guests at Boobalicious 2013 were mesmerized by the Ball’s signature lingerie and fantasy show that showcased outfits from Leg Avenue’s contemporary 2013 collection. Created by Perth’s leading stylist Aly May and dance choreographed by the brilliant Bernie Bernard, the show kicked off with an array of beautiful and elegant Cinderella’s which were then interrupted with an appearance from the Ugly Stepmother and step sisters! This lead into a stunning show, complete with glamorous models and energetic grooves from the NYLON girls, plus the enchanting voice of singer Jerrie Demasi. Boobalicious 2013 generated the majority of its fundraising for Breast Cancer Care WA through its spirited Live Auction – hosted by the very talented Tiny Holly. Health Watch - Be aware of “organic” Be aware of “organic” or “natural” products that are for sale. Some salons have been selling products that they claim are organic skin care products that are homemade. But before you jump on the bandwagon, you need to inform and educate yourself. 1. Where are the ingredients coming from? 2. Who exactly is making them? 3. What environment are they being made in? 4. The most important – what is the difference in simply organic and being certified organic? When professional products are made the ingredients put in are all pure and are made in a sterile environment. Most homemade products are being made in someones kitchen – the hygiene of this environment is questionable. Many people who purchase organic products believe that they are buying a product that is truly organic – but often this could not be further from the truth. A true organic product should be certified organic , it should carry the certified organic label. A product can not legally obtain this stamp unless the product is organic, right down to the soil, seed, all the way through to the packaging. So in short the product must be 99% organic. Unless this is the case then you are wasting your money and compromising what could be happening to your skin.

or “natural” products that are for sale A lady I know from my children’s school purchased such a product. It was an ‘organic’ skin care product, purchased from a salon south of the river and she experienced a reaction like a have never seen before. The product actually burnt her face, you can see in the photo how bad it is. This poor lady has had two batches of Cortizone cream but has still got a rash weeks later. This product claimed that it had no harmful chemicals – this product is also made in W.A. I ask you to be careful about what you put on your skin, be well informed first. There are some simple steps that you can take to ensure you don’t receive a reaction like this: 1. Go to a reputable salon – not to counters where the sales assistants are only trained in selling, not in cosmetology. 2. Never put a new product on in the evening and then go to bed, put it on and then stay awake for a few hours to ensure you do not get itchy and red. 3. If you do experience itchy or red skin remove the product immediately and return the product from place of purchase. 4. If you have a reactive skin ask for samples of the product and put it on the cheek bone area and see how it goes before applying to the entire face.
