To date, Church House Westminster has achieved:
Water-saving initiatives have been implemented – the biggest one being the conversion of urinals to a waterless system. This conversion has reduced water consumption by 80% (that’s 12,000,000 litres of water in 2021 compared with a 2018 baseline).
By reviewing operating hours and having tighter control of lighting systems, the venue has seen a 23% reduction in electricity use. 2022/23 will see the refitting of a large area of the building which will see the move to LED lighting and better air quality control which will reduce the amount of electricity used to ventilate the building.
No waste will be sent to a landfill. 75% of all waste from Church House is either recycled or sent for
the anaerobic digestion (which generates gas and fertiliser from waste food) the remaining 25% of waste is used for energy recovery to power homes and businesses.
The venue has recently changed the cleaning contract with a Planet Mark certified contractor. Recycled paper products will now be used throughout the building alongside chemical-free cleaning processes.
Their mission is to help save the planet and actively seek to minimise and manage the environmental impact of all operations and offerings.
