Established 150 years ago, the FA Cup is the most famous domestic cup competition in the world. It's the tournament where amateur and semi-professionals get the chance to play against some of the world's greatest football teams. It's the contest where we fall in love with underdogs and cross fingers as we follow their journeys, willing them on to cup final success. If glory isn't a certainty, the financial boost the clubs and communities receive is a certain club-saver. And for the hardcore football fans, it’s the silverware they hope to see displayed in their team's trophy case.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the FA has been highlighting some key figures and moments in the tournament's history with displays on landmark buildings, some of which included:

Coventry Transport Museum The image of Cyrille Regis was projected onto the Museum. The Coventry player was a pioneer for players of black heritage and was part of the team that lifted the trophy in 1987. LNER Stadium, Lincoln The home of Lincoln City, who became the first non-league team in 103 years to make the Quarter Finals when they faced Arsenal in 2017, securing their financial future and funding a new training ground complex. Marine Travel Arena, Merseyside The 3,000 capacity ground ‘hosted’ 32,000 virtual ticket holders due to the Coronavirus pandemic when Marine AFC faced Tottenham Hotspur in the Third Round of last season’s competition. Twice over FA Cup runners-up, Watford Football Club scores highly with a knowledgeable on-site events team and a superb choice of purpose-built suites and executive boxes in the Vicarage Road stadium. In addition to hosting more intimate meetings, exhibitions are well catered for too. The contemporary space boasts large windows and lots of natural daylight to create a welcoming area to exhibit to up to 300 delegates. Located in the centre of Watford, minutes from the M1 and M25, and with good overland and underground rail links into London, this is a good location for away delegates to travel to. Plus, with the club's long connections with Sir Elton John and former chairman and England coach, Graham Taylor, there's plenty of conversational starters at this North London venue too!

How about hosting an event on Top of the Terrace? At Carrow Road, the home of Norwich City FC, taking in the views from the top of the Barclay Stand brings an inspiring outlook to a meeting or conference welcoming up to 350 delegates. A year-long celebration began back in May 2021 when Coventry's reign as UK City of Culture was successfully launched despite the restrictions of the Coronavirus pandemic. A real focus has included nurturing local talent and creating an inclusive city for communities to be proud of. With just a few months left to run, Coventry has experienced a boost in tourism and an increase in investors.
