A Day in the Life of Adam Roberts

Senior Sales Executive at Whittlebury Park

Adam Roberts is the senior sales executive at Whittlebury Park Hotel, a versatile venue for any meeting, event, or conference. The hotel has a convenient central UK location, in Towcester, Northamptonshire and has a selection of 19 meeting rooms, 15 syndicate rooms and two conference suites, able to accommodate up to 500 delegates.

What is the best part of your job? And least favourite?

The best part of my job is that no day is ever the same and I get the opportunity to meet some fantastic clients and assist in the creation of some phenomenal events. Least favourite? Honestly, is paperwork. I like writing reports, but I don’t enjoy the drudgery. The good news is that I don’t see too much of the latter and as things evolve, I think we will see less.

What's been the most memorable event held at your venue?

For any venue that I’ve worked at, I never forget my first. From a boardroom for ten to a 3-day conference for 200, the first always stands out. Within Whittlebury Park it would have to be my largest 700 delegate event for which, we outsourced a marquee on the hotel’s grounds with stands from local suppliers to create a festival theme.

What's your favourite dish on the menu?

At the moment, my favourite dish on the menu is our 28-Day Aged Medallions of Beef Fillet, served with Chateau potatoes, confit shallots, horseradish purée, wilted kale and port jus.

What are the catering options available for delegates?

The options are endless. The great thing about working in an independently run hotel is that we can work with our clients to deliver an experience that meets the clients’ expectations and vision... Within reason of course!

Do you have a favourite meeting or event room and why?

I’d have to choose the Brooklands suite and the Orangery; I can’t just choose the one space! These two out of our 34 meeting rooms really stand out.

What do you do in your down-time?

At work, the team take part in weekly activities to keep focused and morale high. At home, I enjoy family time and playing football which always clears my mind.

What can a 24-hr delegate do in their down-time?

Any delegate on a 24-hour package with us has access to our award-winning leisure facilities which consist of a Gym, 19-metre pool with bubble jets, salt sauna, hot tub, and the body & mind studio. There is also the option to include the spa, golf or team-building activities.

Why should an event organiser pick your venue?

We have tailored packages to suit your requirements, offering everything from your small team meeting to a national exhibition. We can supply the flexible space you need with large central spaces, break out rooms, conference areas and acres of outdoor space.

Whether they’re day or 24-hour delegates, we’ll make sure they have the best possible experience, and we’ll offer everything you need to make your meeting, conference or event run smoothly.
