The following photographs represent an event designed by myself and two other colleagues, in honor of our graduation. The 2010 Arch Vanguard Gala reflected the Art Nouveau era of design. Split between three floors the Gala consisted of events including an awards presentation and a faculty-student roast. In attendance were 85 astonished and excited faculty members and students.

The following graphics were designed for the Wentworth Masters of Architecture Celebration of 2010. The celebration paralleled a New York City style art gallery, showcasing 20 full thesis projects, a teaser poster of 80 individual thesis projects, selected undergraduate models, and videography collected from various events over the past semesters. One other colleague and myself were responsible for the signage, layout, set up, and creation of the videography. Over 400 guests visited over the course of a weekend; consisting of architectural professionals, faculty, students and prospective students. The gallery remained until the beginning of a new semester to inspire production of high quality work.

FOURTH YEAR MODELS
These images are taken from a fourth year urban design studio project in Caracas, Venezuela. For this intervention a dead end in a very dense neighborhood was selected for the challenge of reducing danger and violence. One goal of this project was to densely populate the vacant area to add a sense of security. I also proposed to widen the existing staircase, while simultaneously implementing green terracing to function as pedestrian transportation, and open public green space.
18
The architectural program consists of two markets and a cafe. The roofs of the buildings function as gardens to induce farm production and the economy. I included a secondary layer of design -- a seating bench infused with solar ribbon to collect solar power, and the form of the bench serves for water collection. The rainwater would then be stored in collection tanks underground, which serve as counterweights to help stabilize the structure of the terracing.

A second year design project. This project began as a simple design problem: create a nine inch by twelve inch object using only paper. Only one week later the project then turned into 5000 sf Rare Book Library and reading center located in the financial district of Boston. Supporting program included private reading spaces and preservation rooms.

The details from left to right: a detail of a window located at the roof; the unique drain system which was developed to enhance the aesthetic of having a uninterrupted wrapped facade; a typical window detail.

The following images are taken from a third year design project. The program required an 8000sf performance studio for the Antigravity Dance Company -- a high energy representation of acrobatics and dance. The circulation core is composed of stacked, recycled cargo containers reinforced by steel. A motorized track is attached to each cargo container, which supports individual room units. Framing of the single room unit is formed of steel, insulated and faced with gypsum on the interior, and recycled cargo container material on the exterior. The floors are composed of metal decking, concrete, insulation, and hardwood. A glass panel is installed at the front of the unit for viewing purposes. Multiple room units may be attached to the track to enable transitional space.
