Ingenuity Cleveland: Mission + Vision Ingenuity ignites the spark of creativity among artists, entrepreneurs and innovators of all types, through joy and collaboration, in service to civic progress. With our annual IngenuityFest, and ongoing programs like IngenuityLabs, Ingeneers, and Ignite! we inspire audiences, push boundaries, empower communities, and generate economic impact.

FuturePast celebrates the reawakening of our former industrial facility, The Hamilton Collaborative, and the drive toward a reimagined future.

ABOUT

Hamilton Collaborative Ingenuity is proud to be a founding member of the Hamilton Collaborative, a group of innovators and entrepreneurs working together to transform a 100-year-old factory building and build a new economic model for Cleveland. We are redefining growth and innovation as an open, intentional community, managed cooperatively, providing tools, space and knowledge to a broad community of creatives.

Rust Belt Riders Rust Belt Riders is a worker-owned organic waste removal service available to Northeast Ohio businesses, schools and institutions, creating wealth from waste through conversion into value-added products. Soulcraft Woodshop An artisan woodshop and fabrication facility offering classes at a range of skill levels, incubation space for emerging woodworkers, high-end custom furniture, and featuring a new space for clean-tech experimentation. Skidmark Garage A community access motorcycle garage that encourages you to work on your own motorcycle: you provide the bike, they provide the tools, the space, and the expertise. Architecture Office A boutique contemporary architecture firm with a focus on a range of project types restoring Cleveland’s urban fabric. Rebuilders XChange A different kind of architectural salvage retailer, curating goods from soapstone counters to old bank vaults, and offering rehab, consignment and demolition services. MorrisonDance Integrating the art of movement with cross-disciplinary collaborations, continuously challenging the traditional understanding of dance. Performances on the Tesseract Stage Friday and Saturday. 3 Barn Doors A custom design/build furniture company working with clients on unique designs and furniture to give their space a completely new vibe. Stop by to enjoy the newly remodeled showroom and official grand opening! PAGE 4

IngenuityLABS Our growing IngenuityLabs incubator program provides tools, space, resources and networking opportunities with an eye toward broader efforts to attract and retain talent, promote a culture of arts and creativity; build spaces for technological innovation; foster entrepreneurship, especially among traditionally excluded populations; and connect local entrepreneurs with area youth and young adults. We encourage collaboration among artisans working in Cleveland and support innovators with our complementary year-round programs, the Ignite! series for creative entrepreneurs and the community-driven Ingeneers. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a member.

Dino’s Den and Lava Lounge THE INGENEERS, WITH THE ARTISTS OF BRITE WINTER The floor is lava! Better escape to the swinging volcano built by The Fire Guys, or clamber safely into the hanging gardens, jungle vines, or nests of giant beasts, all relics of an earlier time - there’s even an archeology pit to explore!

Bridging the disciplines of dance and the flow arts, one cast of dancers expanded skills to include prop manipulation and “flow”, and one cast of flow artists increased bodily awareness through dance instruction and learned the process of participating in a site-specific staged production.

Tesla’s Tentacular Dream Machine THE INGENEERS It may be very large, or you may be small. It’s a city within a circuit board that *sparks* the imagination. Nightly performances by Plasmosis at 8:30 p.m. will leave you electrified, in collaboration with Skuda Productions, will leave you electrified.

FEATURED PERFORMANCES

Some of our biggest acts of the event, on our most unique viewing space! Hang out in the “meadow” and have a listen, or clamber down the gentle slope to get your groove on . . . if these groups don’t bring out your boogie, we’re worried nothing will! OSHUN is an independent Hip-Hop / Soul duo and the sonic manifestation of Afrofuturism. Using digital and acoustic sounds, heavy drums and bass, and ambient harmonic textures, OSHUN connects with the spirit of their ancestors to manifest a sweeter tomorrow for us all.

Squonk’s Pneumatica Ingenuity welcomes back long-time festival favorite Squonk to perform Pneumatica, a show about air, made of air, powered by air, demonstrating the fluid dynamics that rule our bodies and our planet at a critical time. Calling physics, sustainable energy and civic interdependency into joyful tangibility, Pneumatica creates communities of the imagination and celebrates green energy. This show demonstrates the nature of scientific inquiry into the unseen, both measurable and knowable. It is also about the “air” that encompasses us socially, our shared joy and responsibility. In Pneumatica, we celebrate the engineering that has driven our success as a species, while referring to the other meanings of pneuma: breath, spirit, weather. Squonk wants to help audiences discover the magic of science and broaden their understanding of the world, by combining this cerebral information with the thrill of the senses: sight, sound, touch.

Dressy Bessy is groovy pop punk rock that works hard, plays loud, and rarely apologizes. The long-running Denver band released Kingsized in 2016; now back on tour, critics and fans agree they’re refreshed, ready to go, and better than ever!

Incendia Experience A chill daytime lounge becomes mesmerizing at night - lay back and watch flames lick the ceiling of this unique installation.

Champagne Superchillin’ Champagne Superchillin’ began when its members wanted to travel together to France –a whimsical band who bonded over late nights and a love of literature and classic film. With a particular affinity for Fellini’s carnival vibes, Bermans’ bleak profundity, and the iconoclasm of the French new-wave, Champagne Superchillin’ is mood-obsessed music, more soundtrack than set list.

Plus: Fire and Light Performing Arts Catch a glimpse of fire dancers and LED performers circling ‘round Incendia each evenning from 10:30 - 11:30 p.m., in time with the Renegade Beats of Sunil Shah. The Urban Blacksmith TIM SMITH

Illuminati Hotties brings pioneering tenderpunk from the sprawl of LA, trying not to break too many hearts along the way. Fresh off her debut, Sarah Tudzin balances humor and heart, illuminating the ways in which we cope with coming into our own, no matter our age. Kiss Yr Frenemies is out now via Tiny Engines.

Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.-9 p.m., Sunday 1:30 p.m. All shows followed by artist talk-back and tour.

Ministry of the Butterfly Returning festival favorites grace our garden with interactive gizmos powered by water and wind - these artists travel the country in their one-of-a-kind bus, so be sure to take a peak!

The Traveling Front Porch MEGAN SHANE AND KAI WICK This mobile gathering place is designed to encourage connection. Complete with custom woodworking and creative steel fabrication, this unique gathering place offers shade, benches, hammocks, hanging platforms, and porch swings. Designed and built by Akron metal sculptor Megan Shane, the structure is a collaboration with the Akron League of Creative Interventionists and Wick Studio. We think it’s only natural to cultivate meaningful relationships in the communities where we live and work. And at Dominion Energy, that means we do more than write checks. So while we’re very proud to invest more than $20 million in our communities annually, we’re even prouder of Dominion Energy’s employees for volunteering over 100,000 hours of their time. From refurbishing homeless shelters to replenishing local food banks to cleaning up parks to helping soldiers and their families, we’re donating the most precious resource of all: our energy.
