Year in Industry - Lizzie Agnew Promotional images designed and enhanced in Photoshop to show off bridal designer Lizzie Agnew’s new collection. The aim was to emphasise and sell beauty, elegance and luxury. During the summer I was asked to do a bit of retouching work on photos of her new collection and design a new banner and flyer for promotional use.

Retouched images for Lizzie Agnew’s website re-launch. This was done in Photoshop, using basic airbrushing and digital painting to enhance the silhouette remove imperfections and keep the images uniform. The rest can be seen at: http://www.lizzieagnew.co.uk/bridal/

Commission to design a poster and flyer for Lizzie Agnew’s School of Dressmaking courses. The artwork was produced in Photoshop and the flyer put together in InDesign. The key was to deliver something simple and straight to the point while keeping to her aesthetic. I liaised with her throughout made alterations where needed regarding design and placement. We agreed to keep the colour palette identical to her website so continuity. This ensured that she got the material she needed and that it flowed seamlessly as an extension of her existing business.

Year in Industry - Ebony & Ivory Ebony & Ivory is a new small business specialising in handwritten chalkboards. Jemma works with couples to create table plans and other signs for weddings. I worked closely with Jemma to create a flyer and a logo which represented her that could be used for admin and self- promotion. The design work was done in Photoshop and later vectorised in Illustrator.

03

Year in Industry - Innocent Chaos For occasions and events, Sharon wanted to take the chance to push the business by putting on offers and special packages. During the Valentine’s period and Wedding Fair season, I helped create and print simple flyers to promote packages and deals. These flyers were made to be simple and straight to the point. I also did some photo enhancement for social media.

After Midnight I designed my logo to look ornamental and evoke beauty, hoping to appeal to wearers of Lolita fashion. My business card features a photograph by Catberry Photography which effectively represents my brand along with the logo and details on the back in a complementary aesthetic. I do my own product photography and retouching and design promotional material.

I also populate my Instagram with candid photos and works in progress as I feel it helps me connect with people who follow me on social media and it helps emphasize the fact that everything is handmade. I also really enjoy collaborations and have worked with Lauren Scawthorn on a few occasions, including the cameos above for ‘Dream Masquerade Carnival’, The Tea Party Club’s 10th anniversary event. Promotional image for the release of my first dress collection ‘The First Semester’. This has been used on Facebook and as a banner on Etsy throughout the pre-order period. I put this together in Photoshop and it features all four colourways displayed on mannequins to five potential customers a clear idea of the product they would be buying. I also did all of my own product photography and editing.

05

Commission - Currently Nonexistent A freelance project to help a client design a logo and banner for their YouTube channel. After listening to the client’s ideas, I made initial sketches and colour palettes before consulting the client. Once the client confirmed their preferences and the required changes were made, I digitally painted the logo in Photoshop and vectorised it. The banner was also rendered in Photoshop.

06

ROAM A volunteer role where I was asked by the events team at the University of Huddersfield to design a logo for ‘Huddersfield River of Music’, a week long music event. Although the logo was approved, the event was later renamed ‘River of Arts and Music’ so new logos were designed. Eventually they decided to go with the third design as it was best suited to the acts they had lined up.

07

Commission - Myths of Our Own An exclusive art print designed for an alternative fashion event ran by the IREGL community in Dublin. The theme of the event was myths, legends and folklore so with the event being run by the Irish community, I chose the Dullahan as the main focus. This was painted in Photoshop with multiple shades of green and finished off with a regal border and Celtic styled font.

08

Greeting Cards I often struggle to find cards that I like and feel are suitable for occasions such as Father’s Day and anniversaries so I make my own. I usually mix watercolour paintings with digital elements in Photoshop to create designs that have a personal touch while still looking polished and commercial. This particular design has a sweet sentiment without being overly cute.

09

Back to School Meet Facebook event banner and digital material made in Photoshop and InDesign for an alternative fashion community based in Leeds. I made use of an illustration provided by the organiser which is by Imai Kira which is a clear indication of the fashion the event is associated with. With this as a starting point, I decided upon a colour palette which I felt fit the theme and kept the overall composition simple and easy to read on desktop and mobile.

10

Bitch & Sitch Facebook event banner designed for an alternative fashion community in Leeds for an event in January 2019. The event is a sewing workshop for enthusiasts of Victorian and Rococo fashion, so I wanted to reflect this in the artwork when designing the banner in Photoshop using a mixture of texture brushes and images labelled for reuse.
