Autumn Allotment Designs inspired by harvest season and the underappreciated vegetables commonly found in allotments. This was based on an A/W trend for younger girl’s fashion but I have given it a more summery colour palette for the new season. I created a selection of artwork using fineliners and watercolours in a loose and watery style before manipluating the elements in Photoshop to create a repeat pattern.

02

Stripe Pansy A print I designed to keep my portfolio updated and to keep the creativity flowing. This design combines a mixture of handpainted and digital elements, resulting in this repeat pattern. This design was partially influenced the pansies on a dress by Innocent World and the floral stripe combination commonly found in prints at Joules.

Sleep Tight One, two, three… I don’t know if counting sheep really helps if you can’t sleep but maybe a nice set of pyjamas might! A selection of cute pyjama designs featuring an all over repeat and placement print. All elements were digitally painted in Photoshop using a Wacom graphics tablet with the exception of the watercolour swan.

Pea Coat Design As a designer, I have a personal catelogue of clothing designs. This is a technical drawing for a winter coat designed and visualised in Photoshop. This drawing outlines the features and requirements that are needed when passed to factories for manufacture.

After Midnight - The First Semester This is my first fashion collection which debuted at ‘Myths of Our Own’ in Dublin in August 2018. The design is aimed towards lolita fashion enthusiasts and is a simple and extremely comfortable, everyday design. I designed and drafted the pattern and did all the dressmaking, product photography and promotion for this collection. The dress was sold as a pre-order on Etsy follwed by additional slots for custom sizing. This collection sold as far as Japan. I provided all the accessories and selected the models. I designed this dress to be a blank canvas that takes on the wearer’s personality so I made sure the styling would show that. The dresses can be seen in action at the Indie Brands fashion show here (from 7:20): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AFzFI-9Ho4

Dream of Red Chamber The second release from my brand After Midnight. I designed this pyjama/ lounge wear set to fit a cute aesthetic with plans to use viscose for maximum comfort during the summer. I drafted the pattern and made the garments. I later also did my own product photography and editing.

Otome Sewing Bee I participated in a sew-along by an online group called Otome Sewing Bee. The challenge was to create a fully elasticated skirt using fabrics from our current stash. I knew I only had enough fabric for the main body of the skirt so I used a red gingham to make the waistband and bow. Although I didn’t have enough farbric left to make longer tails for the main bow

08

Gingham One Piece A dress based on design #3. This was my first time making a dress with sleeves and I really enjoyed the challenge. The dress is fully lined, had elasticated sleeves, an invisible zip at the back, lace accents and two pockets.

09

Background Slytherin Slytherin themed design for an outfit for DraigCon, a Harry Potter convenion. The look I had in mind at the design stage was that the look was to be simple and cute with a ‘Head Girl’ kind of feel. When I started making the dress, I had different ideas. The black details and embellished buttons gave it more of a mature, regal feel and I saw that through into the final styling for the event. Detals and progress photos can be found at my blog.
