Al “suspicious” Brissett

Meet Al “Suspicious” Brissett, Artiste, Engineer and Producer. Born October 15, 1981. He’s the first of four siblings. He grew up in Vineyard Town where he currently resides.

His love for music began on his first birth day. His mother was concerned about when he would start walking, on that same day, a friend of his mother brought a boom box radio.Not paying any attention to the child, they heard the music got louder, to their surprise it was the baby who got up and walk to turn up the volume of the music. That was the birth of suspicious interest to music. From that day onward, life to him was music in itself “nothing could be done without vibration”.

During his years’ at preparatory school, his first and only suspension came as a result of writing a musical lyric which was seen a bit too adult in content. In high school his break periods were used to do various music activities such as D.J, singing and using his classroom desk to make beats. At 18, he was influenced by Mikie Bennett, one of Jamaica’s top producers to become an Engineer, but he was more focus at being a Dancehall artiste at the time.

In 2002 “Suspicious” met with dance hall artiste Buju Banton, where he did his first recording and assisted in forming the group Triplicity with band members Roger “Infynt” Thomas and Dwayne “Mini mi” Grandison. During this period they did numerous performances at venues throughout Kingston.

In 2012 he form the music label Uni-cleus Production that is currently working with a pool of talented artists, such as Kemikal, K.lyrical,Ditty and Skip Dem. Suspicious the founder and chief engineer of Uni-cleusProduction was joined by three other engineers (kiomo “ki-ki”Williams, Omar “cronik” Gordon and Jason “jahson“ Fortner .

The four fused their creative talents and vibrations to create the unique rhythmic radiance of Uni-cleus beats.

Al “Suspicious” Brissett plan to make Uni-cleus Production become a more establish entity, working with international and local artiste. The goal is to be one of the best recording label/studio in the island of Jamaica.
