After two decades, Immigration amends mistake, allows in the country Chilean immigrant unfairly deported.

"This person was not able to enjoy family time for 20 years, thank God justice has knocked on his door." Eduardo R. Soto

Coral Gables, June 26th, 2014 - Battling without losing hope for 20 years is what a Chilean immigrant had to do to reclaim his rights to live lawfully reside in the U.S. next to his family. Eduardo R. Soto the Cuban-American immigration attorney stated that, his client was associated with individuals who were convicted of criminal activities, but he was only performing his normal accounting duties. Because of legal technicalities he was put in deportation proceedings and removed from the country even though he was perfectly qualified for a waiver. "With time laws change, they have many details, but family is holy before the law and judges should have this is a precept before them when it comes to separating families. It wasn’t a few hours or weeks, it was 20 of separation for this family: many important moments that will not be repeated; now they will be together and I congratulate the Immigration judge for his courage to do the right thing”, stated Eduardo Soto. Now days the family members of the deported immigrant are not thinking about the past, they are thinking about the future and making plans, one of them is to present their case so other families do not give up due to an adverse decision of Immigration, because as attorney Soto says, "Immigration doesn’t always have the last word and if you believe you have been treated unfairly or capriciously, there are resources that should be used.”
