FR KENNEY DAY 2022

On June 15th the College played host to more than 100 Old Clongownians and their guests who enjoyed a wonderful visit for Fr Kenney Day. This event which celebrates the founding of the College by Fr Peter Kenney in 1814 returned after a 2-year break and was a wonderful opportunity for the group to reconnect with the College and their fellow students. Fr Sheil said Mass in the Boys Chapel followed by an insightful talk by Dr Noel McGrath on the life and legacy of Old Clongownian, Christopher Palles, the last Lord Chief Baron. A forthcoming publication on the legal legacy of Palles by Oonagh B. Breen & Noel McGrath is due for publication in the coming months. Following lunch, the past pupils, all more than 40 years out of Clongowes, took the opportunity to visit their past haunts in the college and enjoy a stroll in the grounds.
