Welcome to the TCS!

Welcome to EIT InnoEnergy's First Transatlantic Cleantech Summit! For over a decade, InnoEnergy has connected industry leaders, investors, and policymakers with clean energy technologies and the innovators behind them. Today is a pivotal moment as we unite cleantech experts from North America and Europe to explore business and investment opportunities driving the energy transition.

The timing is crucial. The clean energy transition is underway, but we must find ways to accelerate the commercialization of clean technologies in every sector of our economy. Technological advances on both sides of the Atlantic must be celebrated and shared to forge a common understanding of what it will take to push to net zero.

Sustained collaboration between the U.S. and Europe is so valuable because we are marching towards the same goal – net zero – but doing it in different ways. The experiences we can share with one another will help us understand what works and what doesn’t and will illuminate the roles that policy, capital and consumer preferences play in the commercialization of clean technology.  This deeper understanding will make us better entrepreneurs, investors and leaders and will ultimately create more pathways to market for cleantech startups.

Through thought-provoking sessions, we’ll explore these issues, discover cutting-edge solutions, and forge new partnerships. Join us as we build a strong bridge between the thriving cleantech communities in the U.S. and Europe and push together to decarbonize our planet!

Creating new markets through industrial value chains

EIT InnoEnergy is spearheading the decarbonisation of Europe by leading industrial alliances in three strategic sectors: battery storage, green hydrogen and solar photovoltaics. These alliances bring together the knowledge and experience required to develop strategic value chains. By supporting large industrial projects, we are directly impacting the energy trilemma: reducing the cost of energy, limiting greenhouse emissions and increasing availability and security - all of which ultimately play a fundamental role in realizing our goal of a carbon neutral Europe by 2050.

This is:

Creating an ad hoc ecosystem with stakeholders from across the value chain Increasing the capacity to support large industrial projects Filling the gaps of the existing value chain by fostering the required funding, skills and talent.

Industrial Decarbonization Through Strategic Value Chains

This panel will dive into the critical role of collaboration and industrial partnerships in building strategic value chains for promising low carbon technologies. The panel will start by identifying the participants and ingredients that define strong strategic value chains, highlighting examples in the U.S. and Europe and the characteristics they share. From there, the panel will explore how climate-focused strategic value chains will play a crucial role in (i) derisking novel hardware and infrastructure solutions, (ii) developing an action-oriented approach among collaborators, and (ii) driving notable progress in industrial decarbonization in both the U.S. and Europe. The corporate perspective will be shared here, highlighting how collaborative approaches can speed up deployment and bring aggressive decarbonization goals within reach.
