Reading, writing, typing, making phone calls, working on a computer, attending a meeting: anything is possible on the Ahrend 230. In every position, active or passive, this chair provides the body with optimum support. The armrests offer ideal support to the user’s arms and shoulders. And the rounded seat prevents the blood circulation in the user’s legs from being cut off. Adjusting this mechanism is very easy. In short, Ahrend 230 is ergonomic, comfortable and easy to operate down to the last detail.
Permanent spinal contact: the user’s back is optimally supported in all positions. The angle between the chair’s back and seat can be adjusted to any required position. An anti-spring-back mechanism ensures smooth unlocking.
Moving while sitting with the synchro-mechanism: the back and seat move along. The spring force can be adjusted to the user’s body weight and individual preferences for optimum comfort.
Ahrend 230 has a unique option with a tilting seat. The seat angle can be adjusted as required.

All users have their own preferences and requirements. All users have their own preferences and requirements. But thanks to its great variety of configurations this chair fits everyone and everywhere. The basic version already offers optimum support. It can easily be adjusted by means of convenient control knobs, enabling all users to work in a relaxed position: the one that suits them best. For example, the seat height can be adjusted from 40 to 54 cm, while the back height can be adjusted through 8 cm and the seat depth through 11 cm. The chair amply exceeds the European standard EN 1335 and the NPR 1813 (Dutch working chair standard). And to spare the environment, all the materials that make up this chair can be fully recycled.
Because good arm support takes the load off the user’s neck and shoulders, the armrests are adjustable: • Height-adjustable from 19.5-31.5 cm (EN 1335: 20-25 cm) • Sliding forwards and backwards through 10 cm • Width-adjustable from 38.2-51 cm (in 6 positions) (EN 1335: 46-51 cm)
The back is height-adjustable (through 8 cm) by simply pushing a button. The back cushion is shaped to offer optimum spinal support.
The seat height can be adjusted from 40 to 54 cm by means of a gas spring, whereas an extra suspension mechanism ensures good seating comfort even when the chair is in its lowest position. Tall people can choose an adjusting range of 44 to 57 cm.
A good seat does not constrict the blood circulation in users’ legs and is not too short either. Ahrend 230 is suitable for different lengths of leg: the seat can be moved forwards or backwards through an adjustment range of 11 cm.
The soft armrests can rotate through 44 degrees inwards and 11 degrees outwards.
The chair can be fitted out with a special armrest for slightly built people: widthadjustable from 33 to 51 cm.
Active seating.
Sometimes meetings take longer than expected. At such times, sitting in a good position is important to avoid back and neck complaints. And don’t forget, visitor and meeting chairs are used intensively by different people. That is why Ahrend 230 enables you to move while sitting thanks to the weight-independent movement mechanism. Tall, short, heavy or light – everybody is immediately seated perfectly.
All models with or without armrests are available in stacking or non-stacking versions.
